Saying they “held” a team to 5+ scores seems like they didn’t really do anything special

Oklahoma’s offense is without a doubt the most dominant asset any playoff team has this year
I can agree with this.

it’s not even close. They have the ability to shred any one of the defenses in the final 4
This is probably going a bit far. In potentially two games against really good defense they're more than likely gonna be slowed down by one. Problem for them is their defense is equally bad; legitimately one of the worst in all of fbs.

In my estimation Georgia, Clemson and Bama have better defenses than those teams that held OU to 31 points or less.
As shown in my edited post above, Georgia, Clemson and Bama all score more than 31 PPG on average. OU's defense is average at best, perhaps below average.
Seems to me that Georgia, Clemson and Bama are all quite capable of beating Oklahoma.
You seem confident that your opinion is correct. If you're truly confident that Oklahoma will breeze its way to winning the Natty, perhaps you should bet a lot of money on that.

Baker Mayfield has proven his entire career he plays his best in big games.
Maybe I've missed it but which ones so far?
I think he can win it but so far, he's had a great game against Ohio State this season but that's really *it* when it's counted. Do tell.
ETA: I really think this may be LSU fans' way of projecting hopes that come from SEC bitterness. Do prove me wrong though.

Agreed. All signs do point to an all-SEC NC game which will suck for those of us outside the conference (but can understand you guys that are not LSU fans being excited about it).

Ohio State held OU to 31 points.
Iowa State held OU to 31 points.
Texas held OU to 29 points.
Georgia scores 34.3 PPG
Alabama scores 37.5 PPG
Clemson scores 33.2 PPG
Of the respectable teams on Bama's schedule, the most Bama scored was 31 points, against Miss St.
You have to compare with at least a hint of similarity.

As a Dawg fan, I would prefer to see a UGA v Clemson game. An old rivalry that would be exciting to watch.

This is the game I want to see.

Agreed. Would love to have seen a healthy AU vs OU :(

With the way they manhandled Ohio State, you may not be far off.

I don’t know why this is such an unpopular opinion. They have by far the best QB with a serviceable team around him, that can count for a lot.

It's because nobody in the SEC wants to believe that offense can do that to a top level SEC defense. They (OU) have a good shot IMO

GA will put points on OU. If it gets to it, Al will as well.
OU is a hard time to predict, at least in my view.
GA and AL can both survive if their QB play does not meet expectations.
OU cannot, but at the same time, if he is hot in those games, I would hate to try and stop him.

Because he can't do shite standing on the sideline watching UGA run up and down the field on OU's defense.

I don't doubt Oklahoma will score some points, their offense is legit, but if their pass defense is as bad as I hear Fromm may light them up more than folks may think. Especially when you consider the yards after catch Georgia's backs and receivers are capable of.

Absolutely. Atlanta would be rocking if it came down to Georgia vs Clemson for a natty. As a pretty long time Georgia fan there is no team I despise more than Clemson, beating them in a national championship game would be unbelievably awesome.
