Not exactly true. His biggest issue with playing them had to do with travel. It was difficult to get to both schools back in those days.

Did they not have flights from Atlanta to Memphis?

Most don’t realize the HBCU’s within the State of Mississippi sued the predominantly white state universities based on discrimination decades ago. The verdict required all public universities in the State of Mississippi to accept in state applications with a minimum ACT of 18 to be eligible for admission. It is the only state in the nation with this requirement.

Bobby Dodd... You should follow Bobby Dodd's path and exit the SEC to go independent. That really worked out well for Ga Tech. I am sure that Tech admins make offerings to their Bobby Dodd shrine every time one of those massive ACC checks roll in.

VT and NC State would be fun trips.
But yeah UNC and UVA can stay where they are.

There are longstanding issues that go beyond that.

Mississippi has one board of trustees for its eight public colleges. Instead of Ole Miss having a board that looks out for Ole Miss, State having a board that looks out for State, etc. We have one board and they have to have equal representation amongst all eight colleges - three HBCUs, one worthless women's college and Delta State included.

I will stick up for USM here too - they need their own board.

Decisions like what school can offer what major. State and Ole Miss are not allowed to have full nursing schools on their campus because they are too close to MUW and Delta State. Instead you have to go 2 years to State/Ole Miss and transfer to UMMC in Jackson (although they have recently started a limited 3rd and 4th year program in Oxford, but you aren't an Ole Miss student - you are UMMC)

Do you know what SEC schools have nursing schools, one of the most popular majors?

All of them except for State, Ole Miss, and Georgia. And Georgia just announced a new School of Nursing is being launched.

Mississippi is suffering from a nurse's shortage as well.

It's asinine the decisions our state makes sometimes.

I just want Jeff Lebby fired because he's an idiot at coaching.

MSU vs TN: In a tied ballgame, State has the ball with 1:55 left, 1 time out and has amassed most of their yardage on the ground and the Vols have not been able to stop it. What does Lebby do? Throws three times.

MSU vs Florida: State has the ball between the 30 and 20 yard line with 29 seconds to play, within FG range and elects to throw the ball.

I-D-I-O-T!!!

I'm a lifelong MSU fan and alumni (1991) and Lebby needs to be FIRED! This State team could be 6-1, if not for Lebby's incompetence. So due to this situation, I'm am rooting AGAINST my alma mater this Saturday. I hope Texas beats us silly, because Lebby needs to be GONE! I don't want this guy coaching my beloved Bulldogs any more and can't stomach the thought of this guy being on the sidelines for another year. So yes, I'm rooting for 4-8 and no more Dollar Tree coaches. If Mississippi State is not going to make a serious effort to get a proven coach who didn't get off the short bus, then don't expect me to support the product on the field. THIS GUY SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED AFTER THE FLORIDA GAME. HE SUCKS!!!

Why can't Mississippi build other schools of that's truly the issue? How many schools are there in Mississippi?

Build them for what?

How many schools, of what kind, are there? Colleges? In Mississippi?

Are you asking why one of the poorest, and one of the most sparsley populated states in the country with six D1 teams, two of which are founding SEC teams, can't "build" another college? Why would they do that?

Do you think said college would all of a sudden be immune from court ordered admission requirements?

Did you go to college
