Nope. It's offensive to people that have been affected by floods

That's as bad as Oregon Ducks & the use of Donald Duck (poor Disney).

Stanford used to be the Indians until that got too controversial. They ended up choosing a color for their name. Cardinal. They chose a tree for their mascot. It sounds pretty PC, but there was a whole lot of "frick you. Find something controversial about this shite. We're done here."

The tree did get suspended for an entire basketball season for being too drunk. A 0.157 BAL according to Wikipedia.

That isn't half bad. Looks like a double A or triple A team logo though.

I still like the moccasin idea though. Plus the boomers could use it like the "don't tread on me" flag and be comfortable that no one could ever make them change again

The Mississippi Flood of 1927 devastated the Delta region of Mississippi which was then even more overwhelmingly black than it is today, so that name is racist.

If you ever get the chance, read Rising Tide. It's a historical perspective on the 27 flood. There were a lot of "what not to do" examples and some political shenanigans going on that put the river at risk. Great read. I used to hunt with a guy that had property just south of the "27 Break Hunting Club".

You should change Flood slightly to Heavy Flow. Goes well with the Red Tide theme for the SEC West.
