most people thought Robert Lester from Foley was just recruited as a package deal to go with Julio,
Lester said it wasn't a packaged deal but that the only reason they ever saw him was because they were looking at Julio. He also said he always tried to cover Julio when coaches were watching practice so they could see how good a safety he was.

Thomas Davis. 2 star recruit from tiny town. Over a decade making big dough in the NFL

Bama had a walk on corner named Levi Wallace, who is currently with the Steelers. He came from Arizona and there is no recruiting information on him from Rivals, or any other source I have been able to find. Making him a 0 star, I guess.

Derek Thomas 3* out of Miami.
Dwight Stephenson lightly recruited out of Virginia.
Both in College and NFL HOFs.
Javier Arenas 2*. All-time college PR.
Mac Jones, 2nd in Heisman.
Josh Jacobs an afterthought, 3rd pick in NFL draft.

Drew Morgan comes immediately to mind as a recent example, but there might be better options.
Brandon Burlsworth is of course the classic answer.

I thought that Javier Arenas was a 1* when Bama made him an offer.
I'm pretty sure that Wallace Gilberry was as well.

I remember when Saban was the first major coach to offer Eddie Jackson late in the game.
Three star.

I'm surprised I haven't seen an Alabama fan mention Javier Arenas's name yet. He was a 2-star prospect according to Scout (3-star according to Rivals) whose only other offer was Florida Atlantic. Shula recruited him as a RB but Saban turned him into a CB. While at Alabama, he was one of the most electric PR/KR in all of college football. In his senior season, he became a consensus All-American as both a CB and a PR.

From what Willis has said he desperately wanted to go to Tennessee but when he visited they didn’t give him the time of day.

Willis was unbelievable. Didnt know he was only a 2 star.
That’s because he wasn’t a 2 star.

That MFer was a beast!
I'll never forget his performance in a blowout loss to my Tigers in 05. He played his arse off with like 18 tackles.
This hit was brutal.

Tyson Jackson 3* recruit, 1st rd pick.
Gators had a walkon QB in the early 80s that started like 3 years. Can't think of his name now.
