No...no it's not. Check out the National Cornbread Convention website and you can see cornbread. The flat ones are called hoecakes.

No I mean I go to a NC persons house, they serve 'cornbread' and bring some baked BS. Corn bread is fried in a pan and looks like a flat hush puppy.

The funny thing is, they are made of cornbread, are fried, and are probably delicious (like hush puppies).

But we are outraged cause that ain't fricking cornbread.

I mean it's sort of the same. You grease up the skillet to cook it in the oven and you fry one on the stove top. Not too much difference. Both are awesome but the one in the oven is the damn official cornbread

You sound like someone who would eat hoecakes and not know it.

yeah, and then spread it to other people without every checking to see if he had caught a love for hoecakes or actual cornbread. selfish and wrong IMO.

We need Congress to pass a Defense of Cornbread Act. Got all these people running around insisting that hoecakes are the same as cornbread and should be treated equally.

WELL THIS IS AMERICA! WE LOVE OUR FREEDOM, OUR GUNS, AND OUR CORNBREAD! AND ANY COMMIE HOECAKE LOVING a-hole TRIES TO MESS WITH ANY OF THOSE THREE GETS A JESUS MEETING ARRANGED BY YOURS TRULY.
