If you didn't think NC was the south, just imagine VA. I lived in Richmond for 12 years, not once did I think I was living in the south. Back to the OP. I would be surprised if UNC would leave Duke due to the basketball rivalry. Either way I would prefer NCSU over UNC, and UVA over VT. Sorry, I learned two things in my 12 years in VA. The refs in the ACC wear blue, and I HATE VT
