UK's chances in the East?

Stoops has slowly built a solid foundation and is building a program that is now (finally) SEC-worthy. Just wanting the boards' thoughts on UK being a possible dark horse in the East. If Liam Cohen's can average over 24 points a game, I think our D will be as good as last year. What say you? It was just three years ago that the East crown was decided in Lexington. UGA handled us pretty good that year, but I definitely think we're getting closer, and we have a Top 10 class coming in for 2022 so far. Yes, I'm a homer, so I do want your outsider thoughts. Thanks.

I think UK definitely has a shot in the East. Considering that Florida should take a step back, and Tennessee is not the same sqaud. UGA is the definite favorite in my eyes, but I would bet UK as the 2nd favorite to win the east.

UK is one of my least favorite games as they can give UF a hard time. Stoops is a great coach and has done a nice job of course.

I doubt it but I would love to see it

I'd still put UF as 2nd but I think UK will have a solid unit and compete hard. A huge question will be if E Jones can still provide solid QB play for UF. He has talent but not the best passer.

Slightly higher than Arky's west chances
Something above zero

It's going to hinge on how successful Cohen can be as OC and if we have a servicable QB in the bunch. The run game will be sound as will the line. Defense is strong.
They're at least third best in the East IMO.

I feel like Kentucky had been a dark horse for the East for like four straight years

Slim to none. If I were betting on it I'd go with none.

We lost our starting Mike linebacker last week. We are replacing 6 on defense and installing a new pro-style offense. We have most of the production at running back, the O-line will be solid to excellent, the receivers a huge upgrade, now who steps up at QB?
The secondary will be solid, linebacker is thin, very thin. Need another transfer. D-line McCall will be solid, Pascal will terrorize other teams and now is the time for that class of Rogers, Ox,Hayes and Anaele to show up. If they play to their capabilities we will be very good. Weaver and Wright will be solid.
I'd say third in the east is about right, but second is possible. We need a few more studs to beat UGA.

You’ve got what looks to be a very improved LSU and @MSU on your plate. I think your West schedule will put you with a game to catchup against Mizzou, Georgia and Florida.
I don’t think anyone is touching Georgia this year unless they stumble big time.

Texas A&M and @Arkansas aren't gimmes. You may be in the same boat.

The schedule is not kind to UK this year. I would feel more sympathy for the Wildcats but Arkansas has a nightmare schedule for the second year in a row... in the middle of a major rebuild. Oy.
If I had to make a guess, and my season prediction rates have shown I suck at this, I would say 3rd in the East is doable. That having been said, yes, Kentucky could win the East. Georgia, for whatever reason, seems to have one step on their pecker game every season and if they have that against Kentucky then suddenly the Wildcats are right in the mix.
If it was a stock I'd put in low buy option. The concern is that I would put in a low buy option for Mizzou as well. One of the two will likely benefit to the detriment of the other.

High, in fact super high. Kirby is Kirby, and Mullen is in disarray.

You are HIGH...Kirby has the East locked this year and probably the SEC in general.
You will be 3rd, there is no dark horse scenario for you.

Yes, he is the guy who has won the East 3 of 5 years and beaten Kentucky 5 of 5 years. Confused how that equates to UK having "super high" odds in the East.
