Something about only running missing-man recruiting formations in a full-sized IPF lest ye be penalized.

Bout time jeez. I mean welcome to the modern college football era. How a program could wait this long to get an IPF is beyond me. What a freaking tight wad your AD must be. Who the hell did that guy learn under anyway??!!

At any rate, the one we're about to build is going to be one of hte nicest anywhere and costs roughly double what many others facilities do.
Think of all the Georgia recruits you could keep Ole Miss from buying with that money.

If the Knoxville Sister Kissers didn't have $20M+ in fired coaches' buyouts, y'all could have something nice, too.

No, some teams IPF is like a warehouse with walls. UGA is paying for a nice facility for a reason. We could have thrown one together and had it up quickly but they wanted to do it right the first time.

Just another area in which UGA is better than UTk

My Butt! Ya'lls will be nice, but at best it will be equal to ours. When you get to that point, you can't really set one apart from the other

The idea here is that we flash the price tag on the facility at recruits and don't need to put a down payment on their commitment. Psh, poor people.

You kicked our arse in 2010 to make up for the arse kicking we gave you in 2009. 2011-2014 have been decided by an avg of 5.25 points. But I guess that's an asskicking for you. And beating us has really helped ya'll get some serious hardware right? Like you should have at least 1 SEC championship in that time frame?

Let me say again:

We are not building this for functionality.

We are building this for recruiting purposes.

Practice is cancelled on average only 2 times per year due to weather.

We are pouring in double what an average IPF costs simply to flash the price tag on recruiting visits.

We're already better and the thing hasn't even broken ground.

If we can throw $30 million at a building we don't even need, what do you think our boosters are capable of

The board approved a cost of $30.2 million for the project, half drawn from the athletics department’s reserve fund, and the other half via fundraising. “Getting the $15 million raised as quickly as possible would be optimal,” UGA president Jere Morehead said on the call. In fact, McGarity added, they would hope to raise even more than $15.1 million, as there are other facility projects for other sports the school hopes to build. Any extra money from the football facility fundraising could then be put toward those other projects. The $30.2 million price tag is more than other facilities that have been built at other schools, McGarity said, due to the “proximity” to the current football building. The facility will be 80 yards wide, 140 yards long, 65 feet high inside and 75 feet high outside. Renderings were not immediately available to the media, but were passed out to board members prior to Monday’s meeting. “This building will be a 50-to-100 year building that will have major construction as far as the total project here,” McGarity said, adding there will be a “tremendous amount of detail (toward the facility) due to its location.” It will not just be a football buidling: There will be a track, batting cages for baseball and softball, and other track.
quote:

“All our programs in essence would be able to utilize this building for offseason conditioning,” McGarity said. “All of our sports will be impacted by this. I do think this will be a transformational facility for our entire program, once we finish this as soon as possible.” Once this football season ends, site condition planning will begin, which will include digging down 12 feet on the location of the future facility. McGarity estimated that proceed would take about 100 days, at which point they would proceed to the next part of the plan. “Certainly not taking any shortcuts because this building will be here a long, long time, and we want to make sure we get this right,” McGarity said.

Ours will be the largest IPF in CFB at 109,000 sq. ft...

“Alabama's Hank Crisp Indoor Facility's 130-plus yard field makes it the largest collegiate indoor practice facility in the nation under one roof. Hank Crisp Indoor has 97,000 square feet of clear space, measuring 20 percent larger than a typical college football field.”

We just finished building a new state of the art training facility that is among the best in the nation. Just because UGA is finally catching up to the times doesn't mean you're better.
