Will be complete sometime in the Spring of 2017, most likely, as the facility will be sunk 12 feet into the ground and there's a lot of utility work to perform in order to prep the area.
quote:
The project will cost an estimated $30 million and will be funded through a combination of donor support and athletic department reserves.
quote:
The facility will be programmed for maximum functionality, as it will be approximately 140 yards long, 80 yards wide and 76 feet high, adding nearly 109,000 square feet of space.

The proportions in this make the field look like its 100 yards wide. And no goal post
congrats on the long awaited IPF

no.
Not sure why everyone is always so confused abotu that space. It's not an "indoor practice facility" in the way everyone else has one. It was meant to host functions and events and do light run-through work if need be. It was never built with the intention of having full on practices.
At any rate, the one we're about to build is going to be one of hte nicest anywhere and costs roughly double what many others facilities do.

There is no functional purpose for it in Athens. We maybe miss 2 practices a year due to weather. We're simply building it for recruiting purposes. Hell, we had to sell the board on building it by saying we'd let track and baseball use it.
