Got a friend who knows Ben Cleveland (Cleveland and Eason are really close) and apparently Big Ben has said Eason is going elsewhere, but that he wants to wait till after everything to not be a distraction

Or if he were to leave and walk-on at OU? That doesn't seem to have worked out too bad for Baker Mayfield??

I guess it is always a possibility. We keep hearing Washington or some place out West. Hate to see him go. With some good solid coaching and hard work he can become an excellent QB.

He was already well on his way to being an outstanding QB. People don't want to admit that if Eason had the same OL, RBs, WRs, and elite defense and special teams last year that Fromm has benefitted from this year it's a whole different story written about him. And likewise, if Fromm had the trash OL and WRs and pourous D/ST that eason had last year...well, I doubt he's gonna be looked at the same either.

Eason reminds me of Mettenberger.
Accuracy and decision-making were behind the curve in his freshman seasons.
It took Stafford about 3 full seasons in college before he was NFL ready. It took Mettenberger just over 4 years (maybe the redshirt stunted him, maybe not).
Eason is finishing year 2 right now, but was in the backup role. It will be interesting to see how long it takes until he is "NFL ready".
A transfer wouldn't be bad. But sitting out at the college level won't help him speed up the process. At least at UGA, he can get game reps and at best be 1 play away from being the guy again.

Agreed with sonny. It's really not a bad bad situation for him to stay. Its obvious he has some things to work on. With him getting hurt, was costly for the young man

I'm sure all that changed a bit when he couldn't project #1 on the single COLLEGE campus he was playing on. His game has definitely had some flaws, despite all the Chris Simms like hype.

It is a bad situation because he needs to play. He's never going to play at UGA, which means he's a very late round draft pick if at all. I'd guess an undrafted free agent.

It kind of is though. It's pretty doubtful he would unseat Fromm during this offseason, and we're bringing in another 5* QB with an entirely different skillset that will also eat into playing time.
I love eason and appreciate what he's done but if he's looking out for the best thing for HIS future he would be better suited playing elsewhere.

I don't think that Eason has the touch that Fromm has. Eason seems to be a guy who likes to show arm strength, even when unnecessary. A good QB knows his job is to make a catchable pass. I think Fromm gets that better than Eason.

It would definitely make a difference. I never understood some of the negative posting about Eason. I'm glad we have Fromm, and really like him, though.

Except he was projected at @#1 at the first of the year. He got injured in the first game, and by the time he could come back, Fromm had taken control of the team. The coaches didn't want to mess with the chemistry of the team and start shuffling QB's. If Eason had not gotten injured, he might well have been the starter right now.
He had a year similar to Matthew Stafford's freshman year, and that is not bad. It isn't going too far out on the limb to say he would progress and be that #1 overall pick had he stayed healthy. Of course, it is all speculation now.

His buddy didn't put that out on the board. A poster did.
Do you believe everything you see on a message board?

Tom Herman is leaving Texas and taking a job at San Jose State. Tom Herman himself told me that!
Does that make it so? I mean, Tom Herman's name is attached to it big and bold!

Eason would be crazy not to transfer.

If the plan is to try and GoPro as quickly as possible, the better option is to stick around UGA.
However if he does not mind a four or five year option in college, the better decision is to transfer now and eat up his red shirt.
It's simple math, he is correct and whichever option he chooses as long as he is comfortable with the timeline.
