In all honesty Kirby is definetely on track. I'm a big Bama fan but I think that if it wasn't for Bama Georgia would win the NC this yr.

After Nicks 3rd year coaching he was 21-13-1. He didn’t win an NC until his 10th year. But you are correct that he didn’t have the type of players during those early years that Kirby does, probably why Kirby has been more successful early on in his career.

oh yeah, not have to compete against the greatest dynasty in college football?
He kinda did. Whether you want to call them a dynasty or not, Florida had won 2 out of 3, going for 3 out of 4 as heavy favorites. They were the premier program with the premier coach and players in the country

The most UGA thing ever is the fact that we are finally putting together consistent national title caliber teams in the age of Nick Saban's Bama. We would be in the midst of a dynasty if not for the biggest dynasty in history running strong in its 10th year. We will have our absolute most talented team ever in 2019... and so will Bama.

Florida had a great 4 year run built around Tebow that promptly fell apart when he graduated and they've really never recovered. They lacked the discipline and staying power that Saban brings Bama.

Will allow it. What Saban inherited...dear god.

The recruiting ranking for the three years immediately before Saban and Kirby were hired, and each coach’s first class:

Saban
2004 - 15
2005 - 18
2006 - 11
2007 - 10

Smart
2013 - 12
2014 - 7
2015 - 6
2016 - 9

He’d been coaching for almost 15 years when he first had an undefeated season. Hell it was year 10 before he managed to get to a 1 loss season.

Saban inherited guys that were going to jax state or troy during the sanction years. Kirby inherited an nfl laden roster.

I've always said Saban winning 7 games with that 2007 team was more impressive than winning the national title. He had NOTHING to work with his first year. That literally was a 3-4 win team talent wise.

It’s semantics to point out that 2009 wasn’t Nick Sabans 3rd year coaching?

That’s a little over the top. Alabama should have been a 9-4 team in 2007. It was discipline and depth that were the issues.

What was it that Saban won though? Ah that’s right a National Championship something Georgia hasn’t done in 38 years

Another idiotic, waste of space thread by triggered Auburn snowflakes. How many threads does this make now? About 20? I know it hurts to suck, but man up and grow a pair.
