Bobby ran Terry's arse out of town after he bucked the cash money all-star system they had (have.) Yeah, quitters are usually forced to sign non-disclosures.

They seem to think UGA is a perennial national power that should win 10 to 11 games a year. UGA is a very good program but they are not and never have been in the upper echelon of college football.

With the recruiting base they have in the state, and the recruiting success Richt has had at UGA the fans have a right to expect more from his teams than the past two seasons.

I am a UGA fan, I think our program is a top 20 all time school, with the potential for top 10 type legacies for spells if we have the right combo of leadership/talent. Dooley gave us that, but at the end, we held on too long. Richt gave us that, yes, no national title, but who in their right mind gets rid of a guy winning the way he was and having us right on the cusp, especially on the heels of Ray Goof, etc.

However, the time has come. I openly defended him to start this season, but just can't anymore. It isnt just the losing, it is the way we are losing. Colorado and Central Florida in one year? Annual blowouts against major rivals? Yeah, we kept the hammer down on Tech, but whoo hoo, that doesnt soften the stranglehold Florida has maintained on us.

I would rather hire Leach and have an idiot that thinks he is a pirate but wins games, or at least goes for it on fourth and two inches early in the game from the two yard line against Central F'n Florida than our vanilla "lets be nice" gang.

No false sense of identity...just want our "place at the table" to be with the big boys, and not losing to teams clearly below us, or no showing Florida annually, or still watching Bobo call plays, etc.

^^This - UGA fans shouldn't want anything less. And, honestly would you rather have a "nice guy" as your HC - or a crazy, mean arse mofo that wants to dominate the opponent?

Well at least your recognize your cheating past. I suppose you think Pat Dye is as pure as the driven snow? Go back and watch the 60 minutes episode. You won't enjoy it any more the second time around. Must make you beam with pride seeing him roaming the sidelines even to this day.

Perhaps you feel this way but other fans do not. When Mark Richt went all crazy in 2007 many fans criticized his "tasteless"/"classless" antics.

similar programs IMO - but UGA has more innate advantages IMO... being the major school in an extremely talent rich state

If I were a UGA fan I'd expect 10 wins more often than not

How many NCs does UGA claim?

Auburn has 57 and potentially 2010

UGA has the HW championship from the early 80s... and 1942 right?

If you count them the way other schools do we have 5, but the school only officially recognizes 2.

Georgia is similar to LSU in my opinion.

Both schools sit in states loaded with talent where they are head honcho.

Both schools did well but effectively underperformed somewhat from 1950-2000.

Both schools did better 2000-2009.

Both schools have fanbases that seem to think the past decade is "the norm" while conveniently forgetting the past so they put slightly unrealistic expectations on the players and coaches.

there's some truth to that... but with the innate advantages both schools have there's some logic to those expectations too
