I forgot that Georgia sports fans only watch their teams when they are good. Braves, Hawks, Falcons, Dawgs. Kind of Miami-ish, in that regard.

Bama fans don't have to worry about it because Bama isn't in the playoffs.

I think UGA fans are confident, not terrified or poor.

They don't want to waste money on this round because they expect to make the next two rounds.

Might come back to bite them, but I think you're not viewing it under the right lens.

I was going to go with ‘the height of irony,’ but that probably would’ve confused a lot of them.

And somehow, didn't find nearly as many Bammers willing to travel to those games as UGA fans. Weird thread starter by a Bammer.

Speaking of history, 1998 really was a good year at the box office.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of tickets to be had for the ReliaQuest Bowl and Alabama will only play one game.

Sugar bowl tickets were being given away in 2002 and 2007.

UGA hadn't won shite back then and would not be playing in another game.

Conclusion: UGA is dirt farmer poor with a fan base who can't afford to drive 5-6 hours to New Orleans.

One of the worst fan bases in all of sports.

Makes my point even stronger. We were far more desperate to be there back then. Giving tickets away.

Should have saved plenty last year.

Plus y'all get the SEC Championship in trashy as frick Atlanta so y'all save a bundle on that, and you know you are gonna lose when Bama plays you there yeyt you always waste that money.

UGA fans are poor.

There are thousands of Sugar Bowl tickets for sale at very good prices. Are UGA fans dirt poor or do they think they will get beat?

Pathetic.

It hasn't been a full generation yet that Georgia has been a premiere academic institution to build out a succesful and dynamic alumni base. Give them time to catch up to the like of Universtiy of Texas. We are in our 2nd generation having gone from an average state school in the 70's. Georgia made the transition in the 00's, so it's still a work in progress.

tl;dr Have some grace and be patient with them as they swap the 80/20 of 80% rural WWE fans and 20% succesful people in life to visa versa.
