Me. Judd may have a libel case against UGA for releasing this letter. They’re suggesting he’s misrepresenting and fabricating stories. There’s malice and intent there, but it could come down to who’s telling the truth.

Very interested to see where this goes. I’ll just eat my popcorn.

No wonder you're fricking clueless then.

While a good sentiment, such a ban likely wouldn't survive a legal challenge.

Nothing says any player or coach has to acknowledge any AJC reporter though.

If they were scared they wouldn't do this. If AJC can prove this stuff, they would/will. If they have lots of other stuff, we would know that's a possibility and not do this.

Kirby is too intelligent and too much of a dotter of "i" and crosser of "t" to not be on top of this. He would've been a top CEO somewhere if he didn't like football.

Misrepresenting facts or maybe just a little misleading? I say it could be slightly misleading, but only because of the title of the article.

They give the facts.

So you didn't read the letter. You just want to repeat bullshite.

OK so this guy is doing what all reporters do and pushing up against reality and drawing conclusions from randomly chosen things that happened to make Georgia look as bad as possible. It creates a false narrative, but I don't know if anything he reported is factually false. He isn't going to list the players nor his sources, so this is all just a lot of hot air.

I really don't care, and I am good with someone beating the shite out of him or him writing another bad article about Georgia. Or maybe we can have both, then everyone can be partially happy.

I think this is a little too formal for UGA to actually give it as much weight as they obviously have. Y'all are way too sensitive.

Either Kirby or the AD should have spoken about it rather than the prez critique it like a j-school prof grading a paper.

I thought that was the definition of news.

Maybe you should do more than glimpse?

I mean, shall we go over the countless incidents in Florida's recent history? We could, then when you show them to be erroneous we could say "We glimpsed it."
quote:

UGA doesn’t like bad things written about them. Period. This will go no where for them and just fan the flame.
This insinuates that Florida doesn't mind bad things being written about them.

Kirby has now become Urban 2.0. And we’re not talking about football results.
So far we have had nobody murdered, so....no. No players have choked a coach, so....no again.

The letter is from UGA's general counsel. What the frick are you talking about?

This is the predicate for a big lawsuit that the AJC will lose. This is a shot over the bow. Retract, or we'll own your newspaper.

Sorry I thought it was from the prez.

I would love to see that.

In today's environment? you make a good point.

True story. Years ago I worked in radio. we had a news report come over the teletype hinting that tensions were boiling over and unrest was imminent. (This came from the AP or UPI, I can't remember, and was a nationwide story) I thought it strange I had not heard anything about it, so I went down to the news offices and asked one of the reporters.

He said that there was monthly NAACP meeting being held that night, but nothing out of the ordinary. Slow news day, so the AP (or UPI) had decided to create the news. This was in the mid 1970's....probably around 1977.

I read as much of it as I am going to. I don't care that much, but if you would like to copy and past the exact part that he is claiming is factually incorrect, I would appreciate it.

Claiming he cannot come to a conclusion because he didn't think he had enough information is not printing factually incorrect information.

I haven't read it either.

But for not caring too much, you sure are doing a lot of replying in a thread about a letter you won't read and keep saying has no impact on your life/thoughts.

Double edged sword. Georgia will probably not get very favorable stories, but on the other hand nothing overly negative, either. They know they will be watched and stop creating news.

I'm not doing your homework for you. Just say "I can't read very well, or maybe I'm just lazy, I don't really care what the truth is, but I'm going to have an opinion anyway". Make that your signature line so everyone knows who they are dealing with going forward.
