Maybe or maybe not. I'm biased as I grew up with Phelps coach from the first grade through high school plus we were on the same swim teams for years. To match what Michael did this kid will have to stay at the top of his game for the next 12 years or more. He will have to be at the top of the swimming world for multiple Olympic games and in the swimming world that has only been done by very few. That is what made Phelps the greatest.

I actually thought the 50 fly was a misprint. When I swam there was never a 50 anything except for freestyle.

Gotta cater to the lazy millennials... 50s of stroke is something we all said bye to when we turned 13, but not in today's world.

He's been in one olympics...
Give this kid time. He will dominate the next olympics as he's dominating the worlds right now. It's usually a pre-cursor.
I bet you thought Phelps wouldn't do what he did after his first olympics either.

Right? Don't understand the hate on this kid, amazing times he's putting up.
Posted on 7/28/19 at 10:49 am to PubeCrab
I don't think anyone is hating on the kid but to say he is going to be better than Phelps, at this stage of the kids career, obviously doesn't know the swimming world.
I hope the kid does become the greatest but let him dominate 1 Olympics first.

Can't imagine anyone for whatever reason will usurp Phelps records.

Literally nobody said this

"Dressel is set to become the most decorated swimmer in history, is he not? "
This litterly means someone said he was going to be better than Phelps.

It will be interesting to see how he does in the next Olympics. I will be pulling for him, the school loyalties end at the coastline.

It "litterly" means he will win more medals. Not that he will be better

I'm happy because he's a Gator but this is the Rant, no one cares here. You guys gotta start bringing this content to the Gator board.
ETA: Okay, some people care, but let's get more people active on our board anyway.

He is already top 10 all-time with 7 in list of Olympic and world championships combined and could move into the top 5 with 3 or more Golds at the 2020 Olympics.

I remember hearing that Lebron was going to be better than Jordan. Never happened. I'll believe this when he does it, but until then it's Phelps and then everyone else.

So if florida wins more championships than Georgia that still doesn't mean florida is better with your logic.

Talk to me when he's anywhere close to 23 Olympic golds
By the age of 22, Phelps was gearing up for his third Olympics and already had several golds.

It’s awesome but all moot. Katie Ledecky will the the most decorated swimmer ever.
She has no one even close to her (when she’s healthy and not withstanding this week).
