N.C. State.

They just happen to be back in the Final Four for the first time in just over 40 years.....1983, to be precise.

Georgia fans remember 1983 well....very well. UGA's first and only FF occurred when the Dawgs upset the UNC Tarheels after beating the St. John's Redmen for the Regional Final.

The Dawgs joined three other schools: the top-ranked and high-powered "Phi Slamma Jamma" group of Houston Cougars, Louisville Cardinals and.........the N.C. State Wolfpack.

This year's UConn group is eerily similar to that '83 Houston squad....dominant and over-powering, albeit in somewhat different ways. Nevertheless, the Cougars knocked out Louisville with ease and N.C. State and Georgia scrapped and tusseled before the Wolfpack pulled out the win.

Houston was forecast to wipe NCSU off the map.....but, it didn't happen. NCSU's strategy was pure genius. At the closing second of the game, NCSU had a slam-dunk of its own at the Cougar's expense and in a HUGE upset, defeated Houston, 54-52. UNBELIEVABLE.

UConn should win this year's title again, but don't count out N.C. State. They have a history of doing this. They did it back in 1974 when they upset the mighty 7-time in-a-row national champion UCLA Bruins in a comeback win in overtime in that year's FF semi-final, 80-77. They went on to win the national championship.

UCLA and Houston know all about N.C. State. They be dangerous. They also have a player that can adequately deal with UConn's 7'2" monster center. He may not be as tall, but he's built like a football player and he's GOOD. He's got muscle. It'll be interesting to watch this matchup.

I'm going with history here. I'm going with the N.C. State Wolfpack over Purdue and in a surprise (maybe not so surprising), the whole enchilada, whether it be UConn or Bama (UConn 99% sure).

GO STATE!!

Purdue will beat them by 12 plus. Easy work imo for Edey and company. Tennessee was the only team with a good enough defense besides Uconn to beat them but refs gave them the game with free throws.

They will be favored to do that, but NC State plays a very very physical game. They got 2 guys down low that won’t be scared or intimidated like Tennessee was, getting pushed around by Edey.

True, but will Edey get the kind favorable officiating that he got against Tennessee yesterday? If he does, I don’t see how anyone can play effectively against him.

NC State has been on a tear. They weren't even supposed to make the NCAA tournament before their performance at ACC tournament. They were a bubble team at best that has been playing exceptional ball these last few weeks.

Exactly and this is what makes them dangerous, no matter the opponent.

Purdue's the second-best team in the tournament, but I'm going with the 'Pack. Should they face off against UConn, I'm not afraid to go with NCSU. In fact, I hope they win it all and they can do it, too.

So, you are saying that Bama might as well forfeit?

I agree that UTK got hosed by the refs on Sunday. As others have said, Edey stood around all day and was never called for a three-second violation, and only was called for one foul despite knocking around Vol defenders at will.
