Fun fact, the north shore of New Orleans was once it’s in republic (very briefly) and their flag was a blue flag with a single white central star.

Florida Republic, starting in the Felicianas and moving east to what is now part of the panhandle.

This was right after the La. Purchase.
La. has the most interesting history in the nation.

PS: That's an awful looking gumbo. Somebody didn't sautee.

Gumbo (and tons of other LA foods) > brisket

Like what other food?

In terms of variety Texas wins hands down. BBQ, seafood, german, Tex mex, southern homestyle, steak houses. Not to mention all of the better breweries

Cajun Jambalaya has always been my favorite. My family is actually more creole but I don’t like the red sauce style jambalaya as much

Yes, Texas absolutely has better seafood than Louisiana does. Everyone thinks of Texas before Louisiana when it comes to seafood dishes.

Just about the only place La. doesn't compete is with BBQ and Tex-Mex/Mexican.

Never understood why people struggle with brisket, esp Texas style (salt&Pepper). It's pretty damn easy!

It can be intimidating, if you've never cooked it, but it's pretty damn easy.

1. Good Cut of meat
2. Good Smoker
3. Good Fire
4. Maintain fire
5. Don't look (if you lookin you aint cookin)
6. Ice chest full of Cold arse Beer

Hey babe, Willie is a huge Longhorn fan. One of his best buddies has a football stadium named for him in Austin.
