So, does it matter that they did not contribute... Does it say more when you suspend a starter?
--------------------
Two receivers -- redshirt sophomore Michael Bowman and redshirt freshman Ronald Carswell -- have been suspended "for a long time," Saban volunteered. He did not divulge the reason for the suspensions, but he chided reporters for not noticing their absence from practice.

Neither player has caught a pass this season

Been hearing rumors about Bowman for a while. I doubt he's back next year.

Does he think media in our state would question him? He is even turning that on them now.

Amazing how the press does not report on that, not on the radio, etc... He is not a high profile player, but still a suspension is a suspension.

Carswell has been getting into it with the coach's about playing time this year. That's not gonna get you very far with a disclipnarian like Saban.

Bowman has been in trouble the whole time he's been here; most recently culminating in an argument with Bobby Williams apparently.

Neither has played all year; neither will play again. But that's what happens when you have such a strict discliplnarian on the staff like Saban. Pretty stark contrast to Chizik letting Dyer play all season if you ask me. :smug:

Wish he would have taken Bobby out. Would have made the suspension worth it.

Saban runs such an undisciplined program. The only reason he suspended them is because they weren't starters.

Can't have it both ways bammers, you'd be killing Richt (and have) if this were GA.

This happens at EVERY program. Some kids just don't get it, regardless of who the coach is, including Saban.

Can't imagine Bowman being back. I don't even know who the other kid is. Freeing up some schollies

Yea, that is exactly the same situation.

Two non starting freshmen vs the best player on the team.

Saban beats them until they flinch whenever he moves.

Then he mocks them.

Saban is a total joke. If these guys were any good he would not have suspended them. Bama's recruiting is going well, so he is suspending players he wants to cut to make room. Nothing more, nothing less.

The results speak for themselves, guys. I don't recall these guys getting arrested for anything, yet he's kicking them off the team on principle. He's holding the accountable like a good leader should. It has literally nothing to do with the epic - I repeat, epic - recuriting class we're about to pull in.
