The fact that you won a 9 to 6 OT game over Bama just lets you know just how close these 2 teams really are. A game in which Bama never trailed until the kick in ot. I give LSU all the credit in the world. I think you guys have a tremendous team If you win in New Orleans I will be content in the fact that you are the better team. If you lose I will cherish having out 14th National Championship and 2nd in the last 3 years.

Even if they win by 6 they could go ahead of bama. Bama needs to realize it isn't as much of a lock as it seems.

Who has LSU beaten that was any good? Oregon? Didn't they just lose to a bad USC team? Alabama? I have read on this board 1000 times about how bad Bama sucks. WVU? Didn't the lose to Syracuse?

I do not understand my fellow LSU fans. WTF do you want Bama to do...campaign to NOT be in the BSCNCG!?!? Is it fair that they go? Hell no! Do any of us fans have control over it? Hell no! Why argue and debate between the fans when there will never be an LSU/Bama fan that agree with these circumstances? Furthermore, if the situation was reversed, we'd be campaining just as hard.
The only thing I can't stand is the media hanging from Bama's nuts when we clearly are a better team AND beat them. Other than that...if we see them in the NCG, we'll handle them much better this time. I can't wait!

I think the same needs to be said about Okie State beating OU.

2 Things Bama fans need to realize is that the voters don't do a true reassessment of teams until the final poll. That is what's going to happen next Saturday.
Right now the polls mean absolutely nothing. The one after next weeks games is all that matters.
In the Coaches Poll in 2006, UM at #3 was nearly a full spot ahead of #4 UF in the week going into the SEC championship. USC was #2. USC lost the last week, UF won and the coaches put UF in front of UM because they were against a rematch. All 63 basically moved them ahead of UM.
In the Harris Poll in that same year, The Harris poll did a similar shite giving a shift of 38 points (or 34%) to put UF ahead in opposition to a rematch.
That was all in the last week and doesn't even mention 2007 where they changed the polls up drastically after the final week.

No thanks. LSU can keep it. Bama already has 22 which is more than twice as much as LSU has.

Other than LSU, name a team today that is better than Bama. You can't

LSU isn't scared at all, lol!
If Bama thinks that LSU's defense was fast and aggressive in Tuscaloosa, then they definitely don't want to see us in the Superdome with that Turf field. For McCarron will be running for his life once Kiki, Montgomery, and Co come off the edge...not to mention LES is Money anytime he has to prepare for an opponent!

I agree LSU and Bama are the two best teams, but if you want it to be fair we've got to make it best of 3 with us up 1 game to none. If Bama wins game 2, then game 3 should be in Tiger Stadium and we put all the trophies up.

But the system doesn't work that way, although I'd love to see a rubber match! At the end the BCS pairs up the two best teams. LSU and Bama are way better than anyone else.
But, for one Bama FG in regulation...there goes LSU. Into a rematch they would deserve.

LSU is under no obligation to participate in the BCS if they so strongly disagree with the system.

Speculation... An early FG would have changed the game dynamics. You can't assume that Bama would have won by 3 in such cases.
