It's Les people. Guy is a coward, and isn't going to own up to jack in a worthwhile way. Why anyone expects anything from this presser is beyond me.

After 2008, we've brought in:
Shepard - now a WR
Garrett - released after 1 year
Lee - Got paid
Rivers - Extremely raw prospect
Mett? - We'll see
Randall - supposedly inaccurate
This has entirely everything to do with a poor job by the coaches and planning very poorly for things. It's one thing to continually miss on QBs, but it's another to mess up this badly if Kiel doesn't come in.

recruiting and most of the time, motivation. His hard-headedness caught up to him in a big way. He is not the humble man I thought he was. He suffered from the fatal flaw. His way of the highway, and his way ended up the lowway.
It amazes me that some people on here can't accept the fact that how Les treated Jarrett Lee particularly this year will forever be used against him to recruit QBs, WRs, etc.
He was willing to put his ego/stubbornness over that of the team and treat a QB that did nothing but stick to his commitment to the university like crap. It's going to have a huge effect, and people can continue to defend Les with this, but I assure you a large reason Kiel is bolting to ND is because of this.

Why do 2 or 3 losses matter? Winning your division and conference don't even matter right now.
Fact is, if you're going to let a team like Bama into the NC (they earned their win, but shouldn't have been there still), then you can't complain about number of losses.

Best he got was Ru's dad saying there are many reasons Rueben moved on.
I bet everyone of those reasons has the face of a president on it.
Every LSU receiver since 2007 has either gained nothing or actually been hurt by coming back for their SR year under Miles. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Reuben was fed up after how the back half of this season played out and Miles got his way with the JJ/Lee scenario.
Why come back when it can only likely hurt you?
Don't forget Romeus

I know people are wondering where we'll get pass rushing help, but don't forget this guy.
He was a 1st round graded pass rushing DE before his injuries and by all reports looks to be back at full speed.
Hopefully he can greatly help our pass rushing needs next year and Cam Jordan can take over Will Smith's spot if he doesn't restructure.

Les is just trying to save face with the Gunner Kiel fail. Maybe he thinks Liggins can be his Tebow.

He's right, but Miles is too big of a coward to actually come out and address things publicly. He'll continue to hide behind the weak BR media, and then hope people will forget how badly he embarrassed LSU in the NC game.
Les isn't a bad man. He's just weak. He always finds a way to claim blame while deflecting it at the same time. He's always put in a tough position according to him, despite the fact that he put himself in those positions.
He has his defenders that will excuse any mistakes he makes and continue to spout off his record, but being a good football coach isn't about your record of wins. It's how you get them. It's how your team plays on the biggest stage. It's how you act like a man instead of blaming others for your misgivings.
Les is what he is. He showed this year that as much as people want to believe he's changed that his stubbornness and arrogance will always come before the team's success in the end. If you can't have faith in all of your players and not just one player then your destined to fail when it matters most.

I see zero chance of JJ being an NFL QB. He has a really long release and has never read defenses. His only chance would be at a different position. He has raw straightline speed and nothing else.
I am not saying he does. Saying he's never shown glimpses of anything near NFL talent like OBUDan is just silly.
JJ is still as raw now as he was coming in and that is what will not allow him to be a QB in the NFL.

Failing against superb competition.
Our entire offense failed against superb competition since 2008. That had nothing to do with Lee and more to do with shitty coaching.

And whatever school issues he may or may not have.
Again, no proof of this at all. Just conjecture from random people to excuse poor coaching decisions.

There's probably 20+ guys with equal or more talent than him and less baggage.
I didn't see anything in 4 years from him or JJ to think either can play at the next level.
Then you've looked with bias against both.
Both Lee and JJ have shown flashes of what could make them possible NFL QBs (as in 2nd/3rd QBs). Consistency has been Lee's issue and that has a lot to do with poor coaching decisions more than anything.
JJ has the raw athleticism and strong arm that with the right coaching and time can make him a very good QB.
To act like they've shown nothing in 4 years is down right stupid.

If Lee can get onto a practice squad with some legit coaching, he'll have a shot. If anything the kid can play professionally, maybe even in the CFL as a QB.
To the people degrading his performance based on the competition, GFY. Kid has had 2 days of prep basically.

Won't be hired until after national signing day. This will allow Les to have more recruiting visits himself.

It seems like not having a backup to RP and benching Lee for JJ could prove to be major setbacks to Miles.
He had a backup to RP. He just wasn't ready to play because he got absolutely no coaching at his position.
JJ should never have played his first 2 years. He should've been redshirted and given time to develop under a good QB coach. JJ and Lee both suffered because Les chose Crowton. While it got LSU an NC that year, the toll it took on the team's youth really hurt. If Les hires a QB coach instead of a TE coach, we may have actually been fine with Crowton as OC.
