picking up steam
Bert is a class act, and imo has got the Hogs on the road to being a contender.
Wish they'd move to the East.

Arkansas needs to recruit better at DL and upgrade its skill players if it wants to win consistently, period.
At Wisconsin he would have a threat at WR(1), a game breaker RB(1-2), a massive group of OL/DL who were all RS Jr or older that could dominate the LOS and a QB who could hurt you in play action. Even then they weren't ever competitive nationally but would win 9-10 games in the B1G.
They had all of those things last year and were still inconsistent in the SEC. I'm not sure he has any of them this year so...

Well if Bert can turn the corner at Arkansas and Miles can keep winning at LSU it would be pretty conclusive evidence that nice guys don't finish last in college coaching.

They really weren't inconsistent in SEC play last year. They were inconsistent in OOC play

It must have meant the Big 10 was down.

lol
Arkansas has one of the most talented and deepest Dlines in the league. Skill players? Arkansas has one of the deepest and most talented WR groups in the league. Arguably the best TE in the league and has a very talented group of RBs.

I really don't get the infatuation over him. I'm not a hater but Arkansas can have him. He talked trash to Texas tech and loses to them? He seems to lose a lot to ooc opponents.. Don't want.

Nope, he made a joke about teams who don't use a fullback at a Texas high school coaches clinic and Kliff got mad about it

Know how I know you like opining about things you know don't know anything about?

He is fat and stupid.

It will probably be a couple of years before we are there again. I've come to embrace the roller coaster that is being an AU fan. The highest of highs is worth the low lows, but I lose years off of my life because of it.

I like Big Bert too.Seems like a genuine good person. I hope he fails miserably when he coaches against LSU

Bret encountered the same stuff here.
First time I heard of him was when he was announced as our coach. I had to google the guy, but only because who gives a shite about the Big 10?
It didn't take long for me to like him and believe he does things right. One of the first things I remember about me "liking" Bielema was how respectful and "grown up" his players at Wisconsin seemed when they talked about him leaving. It was apparent that they had been under good leadership. Sounds hokey, but true.
I think he's going to be a winner here. He inherited an absolute shite-show from Petrino/JohnL.

Yeah. We found out that he put the second most players in the NFL than any other coach in college football history. He's an excellent evaluator and developer. He is also a much better recruiter than he gets credit for(read 3 threads in this forum and you'll hear how he can't recruit).

I watched a couple of episodes as well and changed my mind on Bert. I'd have a few beers with that guy.
