Just to be clear, Oklahoma is not my pick to win the conference. My OP asked if they were a bigger threat than Texas.
I could see this team making the playoff if they keep improving, though.

I've enjoyed the OU low points. I've also seen us burned by them many times in the Cotton Bowl, so I've learned to never underestimate them. I expect them to be much better this year.

I'd say true just because Texas intentionally creates baby schedules for themselves. Look at their schedules the last 2 years in the SEC. Then look at their schedules the last 10 years. It's a joke. MAC teams play tougher schedules. They are pros at posturing. Always have been. We were their toughest game for like 50 years.

Texas looks like an 8-4 team (6-6 with OU’s schedule) to me at this point.

OU looked good last night. Particularly their qb who is definitely a gamer. Tough to read how good the defense really is since they were home and going against a true freshman QB. But Texas has some problems to iron out. Very talented but very sloppy so I’d call it a push right now.

Yeah, it’s almost like we got better since joining the sec and they stayed the same or regressed. They are average with occasional spikes due to weak schedules.
