Yep. That run was legit
Still waiting on Bama fans to offer some rebuttal to the stats I posted.

He had decent stats because he broke a long TD run late in the game with Bama up 34-3 and playing backups.

That was a Kirby smart defense.
I'm not a Bama personnel expert.
But at UGA, we rotate 2 deep at every position but 3 DBs. That rotation starts in the very first defensive series.
"Backups" at UGA is typically 3rd and 4th string except for Safety and 1 CB spot.

Why be embarrassed. The kid worked hard that season and it was a reward for it.
Because they were down 49-0, playing against the 3rd team defense, and were still stat chasing.

This dude literally must be Chubb. He only talks about Chubb

Video of Chubb run vs Alabama
Noted Alabama benchwarmers Reggie Ragland, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Eddie Jackson, and Dalvin Tomlinson are in the game.

No Cadillac or Ronnie Brown? Both picked in the top ten of the same draft? (Top 5 if I'm remembering correctly)
There's some solid dudes listed there, but Mason is the only one that belongs with these two.
And this isn't to say they're the best since 2000 in the league. I'd have to go Dmac or Henry for that discussion.

We weren't playing backups.
Michel always gave us more trouble than Chubb - both in 2015 and 2017
Non-Garbage Time Stats 2015/2017
Chubb - 28 carries, 64 yds (2.29 YPA)
Michel - 20 carries, 124 yds (6.20 YPA)

Sony was never capable of rushing effectively with 20+ carries. In 2015 he did well replacing Chubb but his YPC suffered as the main back.

He was elite before the injury, but the best? Idk. Lot of elite backs from the SEC during that timeframe. Also, are we judging only college career or including NFL as well? Either way, Chubb recovered nicely from his injury.

2007? McFadden was standing on the sideline in the 4th quarter with a headache in that game as JP Wilson brought us back for the win. They were far more talented than we were that year with Dick, McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hill in their backfield. We stole that one and it felt good.

We are judging his first 17 games at Georgia.

lol so it’s a who had the best 17 game stretch? Getting kind of oddly specific here. He was elite for sure. Difficult to judge given the number of elite back from the SEC and having to adjust for competition played and O-line talent. I honestly think Gurley had more game changing potential. Also curious to see what kind of numbers Kamara could’ve put up if he was actually utilized at Bama/UT.

I think I was pretty clear.
Is pre-injury Chubb the best SEC RB of the 2000s?
Therefore, we look at his stats in his first 17 games, and compare them to everyone else’s career stats.
Got it?

If sonys hip didn't give out on him in 17 (along with deandre walker leaving in the second half) were national champs imo.
Chubb was awesome obviously but he was running into brick walls that second half. Sony was gashing bama the whole first half. Without him our offense stagnated and we couldn't keep drives going

The last 1.5 qtrs of that game they moved the ball at will against us and wore our defense out, which is why they scored 28 unanswered points. McFadden averaged 7.3 YPA and his runs went for 13, 7, 3, 1, 11, 1, 6, 8, 12, 5, 20. We had no answer.
Luckily they tried to pass.

The reason you think that is because he played for a better team.
