The question was do you think his argument has merit,

A lot more merit than many other cases where the NCAA has given out waivers like candy, but are stalling this one. He has submitted medical evidence of post-Covid and tonsil/bronchial problems that negatively impacted his ability to play. His coach has confirmed that in writing. Under NCAA’s own procedures, that qualifies him for a waiver.

He’s not a Pavia trying to game the system. He’s got impeccable character, is good for college football, and hasn’t yet been able to play three full seasons. NCAA should have fast-tracked this waiver long ago. The fact they haven’t has a fishy odor.

The NCAA is racist and so is everyone else arguing that Trinidad should get denied.

This case will be interesting. The legal team and Ole Miss are arguing for the extra year of eligibility based on medical reasons. Mars produced a letter from the coach of Ferris State saying he believes Trinidad deserves an extra year as the medical reasons hindered a season for him. Is it BS, maybe, probalby, but that game is played fairly often regarding medical redshirts.

The interesting piece to this is the Division 2 aspect of it and how NIL changed everything. Should all of the years spent playing division 2 ball count against his eligibility or should it be considered the same as a JUCO. I'm not crazy about players getting 5,6 + years of eligibility but I also think there has to be some consistency. NCAA also screwed everything up with that stupid COVID year. If they played football that year, they shouldn't get an extra year.

No butthurt here, and I’m actually in favor of him getting another year. But at some point, TC needs to focus on the draft process and I’d think this prolonged legal fight would be a major distraction for him.

What I heard is Chambliss needs his previous school, Ferris I think, to say a tonsillectomy kept him from playing. Ferris isn't agreeing with that because he wasn't playing because he wasn't a starter. It's what I heard not sure if it's valid.

Is junior college college? Pretty sure it is, and it doesn’t seem to count against eligibility. That’s how Pavia got to play six full seasons. All Chambliss (at age 23) is seeking is the chance to play four full seasons.

Kato, both Chambliss and Lacy were leaving OM, and others but OM beat UGA and changed things. He has little if any loyalty to runty OM.

The rules are the rules. Pavia is a gay loser who is afraid of the nfl. Chambliss will get drafted to be a back up he simply wants one more year to make more money than he will as a back up most likely depending on where he is drafted. Sorry I don’t really care, I do care about rules actually being enforced though. He needs to go to the NFL.

can you be more specific? Because the NCAA, in their response to Chambliss' request gave some pretty specific data on how many claims were made and how many were denied and why. Your assertion doesn't really track here. Here it is

quote:

"In November, Ole Miss filed a waiver request for football student-athlete Trinidad Chambliss, seeking to extend his five-year Division I eligibility clock, citing an incapacitating illness or injury," said the NCAA in a statement released Friday afternoon. "Approval requires schools to submit medical documentation provided by a treating physician at the time of a student’s incapacitating injury or illness, which was not provided. The documents provided by Ole Miss and the student’s prior school include a physician’s note from a December 2022 visit, which stated the student-athlete was “doing very well” since he was seen in August 2022. Additionally, the student-athlete’s prior school indicated it had no documentation on medical treatment, injury reports or medical conditions involving the student-athlete during that time frame and cited “developmental needs and our team’s competitive circumstances” as its reason the student-athlete did not play in the 2022-23 season. The waiver request was denied.

"This decision aligns with consistent application of NCAA rules. So far this academic year, the NCAA has received 784 clock extension requests (438 in football). Of those, 25 cases cited an incapacitating injury (nine in football). The NCAA approved 15 of those (six in football), and all 15 provided medical documentation from the time of the injury. Conversely, all 10 that were denied (three in football) did not provide the required medical documentation.

"To receive a clock extension, a student-athlete must have been denied two seasons of competition for reasons beyond the student’s or school’s control, and a “redshirt” year can be used only once. One of the rules being cited publicly (Bylaw 12.6.4.2.2) is not the correct rule for the type of waiver requested by the school. Ole Miss applied for the waiver in November, and the NCAA first provided a verbal denial Dec. 8."

He has submitted medical evidence of post-Covid and tonsil/bronchial problems that negatively impacted his ability to play. His coach has confirmed that in writing. Under NCAA’s own procedures, that qualifies him for a waiver.

Can you provide where this happened? Because all reports have said he has not submitted any evidence and that's why his waiver was denied. The school nor his physicians had records showing his tonsillitis kept him out for 5 months. There is a report from fall practice where he got sick and another from December saying he was fine. If he had tonsillitis for that long, there is going to be more of a paper trial. That is typically something that is handled with one round of antibiotics. If he had actual issues with it, there would have been multiple follow up medical visits and records to support that. His coach, not a doctor, writing a letter 4 years after the fact is not going to persuade anyone.

No one said he was a bad guy. But if you want to call a spade a spade, he's seeking another year because he knows what Ole Miss is willing to pay him for another year and thar Ole Miss is also willing to pay Tom Mars' attorney fees to try to get that result. In any other universe, he's prepping for the NFL draft

REBSHARK you'll lie to yourself and actually believe those lies. You were in love with and saying CLK would be at OM in 26. Now you trash LK cuz he's no longer running the Runt parade. Back to mediocrity for the runts.

I wanted FW gone REBSHARK. Good recruiter in NOLA but a crap RB coach. Seldom see RBs improving and he puts his rotation schedule over what's best for the team. A RB gets hot, really running well and Frank would sit him for his rotation schedule. Drove me nuts. AND CLK ISN'T WHIFFING IN THE PORTAL. YOU'RE JUST PURE BS. YOU'RE THE RUNTS GET OK WITH IT, IT'S NOT CHANGING.
