Poor kid got the flu. It can be rough, it's a bad strain this year - put my sister down for three days. He might miss a game. Gotta' keep fluids in him and the fever under control.
He'll be fine weekend after next. First couple days back at practice will be a bit sketchy - just need to work him light. Assuming he even shows symptoms.

Why wouldn’t he be cleared?
CDC plainly states 10 days since symptoms first appeared and
24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and you are good to go.
