I've never been in the locker room but tre struck me as more of a lead by example guy than a locker room guy. But again i wasn't there, so i don't know.
I agree that prosch will be tough to replace.

We'll be able to run just fine.
I won't pretend losing Tre isn't a major loss, he's an awesome player and person. But I don't think there will be any significant drop in the running production we need next year.*
In all seriousness, when is the last time Auburn didn't have RB options? I doesn't happen too often.
*I say need because I expect we'll be a little more balanced, so we'll run a ton and put up big numbers, just not necessarily the astronomical numbers we saw this year.
I think Quille is going to really stretch the field for y'all. He's a top 10 NFL Draft talent. Freak of nature.
However, losing by far your best OL, your stud FB, and your stud RB who is also emotional team leader is going to hurt.
Auburn has talent of course and should be fine, just won't have the dominance in running game they had this year or the precision.
I don't think we will try to run like we did last year. Our whole offense changed after LSU beat us because of the strengths of available players. Next year the strengths will be different so the offense will be different. There are themes Gus likes to use but he changes it up a good bit every season.

We will miss him more as a leader than production wise.
He is a stand up guy, hard worker, led by example, never quit etc.
Really all of the cliches running for 5+ a carry.
Going to miss watching him on Saturdays I am.

depends if we start JJ or NM
if we start JJ we will be a much more balanced attack
if we start JJ we will be a much more balanced attack

I would be surprised if Gus went forward with as run-heavy of an attack regardless. I guess if NM is just that good at what he's doing and doesn't improve at all, that's a tough spot. But I expect he'll become a more competent passer (likely) or JJ will get a very long look.
It has already been established that QB will be put up for competition again, although I'm not sure how "open" it'll truly be.

We lose a lot of our 2013 production with Tre, G-Rob and Prosch going to the NFL. But we have guys behind them that I really believe will be just as productive. Of course that is speculation sure, but you saying they are "by far" our best players is also speculation. Since I tend to follow Auburn recruiting and the football program closer than you (not flaming), I think opposing teams shouldn't take a huge sigh of relief with those guys leaving.

If I was an Auburn fan, I would have hoped Mason stayed.

nah, we needed him out of the way so our true studs could play.

Mason, Robinson, and white fullback who's name I forgot already.
Those 3 were HUGE parts of that dominant running game and are all gone. Correct?
Makes me feel better about you guys next year for sure.
ETA:
#1 RB, #1 FB, and #1 OL
Definitely some question marks to be answered, but lets be real, Malzahn is going to field an elite offense when he's running things. And we've recruited exceptionally well on O.
Mason will be replaced by Peyton Barber, CAP and/or Roc Thomas.
Prosch will be replaced by Ricky Parks (not the blocker Prosch is, but a more versatile guy)
GRob will be replaced by either Shon Coleman (5* OT) or Avery Young will slide over from RT and Pat Miller will play RT.

Gus' teams have never finished lower than 4th in thier respective conference in total rushing for a season.
I do not see that changing.

We will be fine just like bama is fine when a great player leaves y'all

obviously facetious here, so ill overlook it.
Tre Mason was your offensive MVP, imo. I grew to really appreciate how well he played. he could play in any offensive system. perhaps even better in a pro style system. Sure a school is more important than one player, and all players move on at some point, but he was such a plus for Malzahn.

I hate to see Tre go, but I am thankful for what he did at Auburn. Great player and character guy, a true leader.

agree. would prefer to keep him for years but that's not allowed. so in a way you don't want a logjam either.
Alabama is built that way and it works and is what you want to copy... depth -> NFL bound players -> no drop off -> more future NFL recruits -> repeat

Not that Auburn could beat LSU with him anyway.

Big loss for us no matter how you spell it. He's the best fit at rb in Malzahn's offense & I think he would be awesome in spead offense such as NE Patriots.

Seriously...it's clear he was what was holding us back.
So basically, you're fricked now.
