Sorry, but these “hype videos/songs” are ridiculous even for college teams.

Then, yes. Very fair.

Yep, I think Peyton Manning's son is going to Baylor. I lived amongst the middle class and went to Tyner High School so I don't like McCallie or Baylor.

Never knew anyone that went to McCallie when I was in HS, but I knew some girls that went to the girls school, GPS . I went to Auburn with some guys that went to McCallie and they were great friends. Also, a girl I grew up with, her son is RB at McCallie, so I guess if I had to pick I'd go with them.

My cousin's kid was QB for Baylor a few years ago, so go Baylor.

Personal connection so I'm biased but would say that this was a student run project. This one was quite spicy and definitely their team better bring it after dropping this. The singer was a past student and sang in the 1st hype video 10 years ago so this was like a reboot honoring some of those from that era. Both of these schools are academically excellent and I'd hire nearly anyone who made it through. However, on the athletic side, it has become like universities. After COVID, both schools had upticks in their boarding enrollment and "imported" most of their teams. Quite a large group of Canadians. Peyton Manning's son just enrolled at Baylor. Not a lot of local kids start for either team at this point. But there is definitely D-1 talent all over the field for this game. A Baylor senior administrator was involved in an "alleged" boating DUI a couple of years ago, but somehow the case was "resolved". Last year Baylor had the superior team and dominated the regular season, but lost to McCallie in the state championship while having a 21 point lead at halftime.

Yes, there are some folks that define themselves solely by their graduation from these private schools. I know some folks back home in LA that are the same way (SF Warriors 4-eva!!). It can be insufferable. But there are some exceptional kids that come through. Glad I've had a chance to be around them. The video below was viral and made it around TD this spring. More representative of the character of both these schools - when it is not rivalry week. That being said, good luck to athletes on both sides but Go Big Blue! It's going to be fun!

“Where dreams are made of” Lol!

I always hated that bus ride to and from C-town. The only one worse was Lawrence County.

I’ll be cheering for Ella and the Red Raiders.

I live in the area, and wrestled for Mccallie growing up. I played Baylor twice in high school. I can say this with 100% certainty that both schools are full of elitist rich arse holes. I know that they are both great schools but there are two other schools in the Chattanooga area I would rather send my children to, and likely will.

Its the #1 high school football game in the country this week. Two teams in the national top 25.

It’s called having high standards, sweetie. Maybe you should try it sometime.

I know a bunch of McCallie kids and every one of them is intelligent, polite, and hard working.

And then there’s you and your ilk, who talk shite about children on the internet.

There’s an old saying: “if everywhere you go people are assholes, YOU’RE the a-hole.”

If my parents hated me so much that they sent me to boarding school like this poster, I would probably also have complexes that made me this unhinged and bitchy about unimportant high school shite.

I didn’t go to McCallie (or any boarding/private school), but I know kids that do. I also know a lot of kids that go to other private schools and to public schools, and the McCallie kids are more well rounded and likable in my estimation. Seeing adults shite on kids over a hype video they made is what made me speak up.

Maybe the adults talking shite about children are the unhinged, bitchy ones. But I guess you support that kind of thing. What’s that say about you?

McCalle is a bunch of new money liberal arse wipes from signal mount. Baylor is all of the old money from Lookout Mountain. They're more conservative. I wouldn't say there right wing they're not lunatic liberal left like McCallie.

Both schools can claim a lot of rich and powerful people as alumni.

Governors, senators, and Industry titans.

About 30 years ago Ted Turner spent $40 million on an athletic complex for McCallie. That same complex would probably cost a $100 million today.

That said, haven't heard of either school and do not recall a lot of blue chip talent coming out of Chattanooga in the recruiting cycles.

Bear Bryant called and said to tell you find subject your knowledgeable about.

I can't believe you claim to be an Alabama fan and had no clue that the greatest offensive lineman of all time, John Hannah, played at Baylor. All the Hannah brothers did. Charlie Hannah who played for the Raiders. David Hannah who may have been the best one of them but was injured at Alabama and never got to play.

Very familiar with the Hannah Brothers at Bama. But, I said "a lot of blue chip talent" and indicated current/modern recruiting cycles.

I should have checked my 1970s recruiting mags and player rosters first.

Agree. Same can be said for a few schools in Williamson County.

Not rich or entitled but I remember playing at McGavock one year and they were taking team pics before the game. The line of players was so long, I kept thinking there’s no way we get the game kicked off at 7pm, lol.
