Is it really considered choking considering what the pre season expectations? BaseVols was picked #4th in the East. And they won the SEC and went to supers. That’s overachieving if you ask me. No one outside of Knoxville expected the Vols to win over 50 games and win the SEC.

See I think we have a different definition of “overachieved”.
Any team capable of winning the SEC shouldn’t choke in a home super regional. You can run around bragging about that but 4 SEC teams had a better season than you last year, they went to Omaha. One of them won it. You choked, wasted one of your best seasons in history, while 4 other teams advanced. That’s failure, not success.

I've never seen a fanbase more proud of repeatedly losing when it matters most. I guess it is sort of impressive to go that long without winning anything meaningful. Hopefully they can keep the impressive streak going.
