Most likely what happened is Ole Miss gave him a shite ton of bag money, went to Bama anyway, felt guilty about taking money, confessed to saban, suspended because Bama doesn't put up with that.

You are a fricking moron bringing up anything about Auburn in this thread when about 7or 8 different bammer players have been charged with felonies under Saban, and DJ Petrway was allowed back on the bammer team after being charged with two felonies himself

Hey Phan, welcome back.

I mean speedy has kind of embarrassed himself since going to a&m in addition to losing 3/3 to LSU

Last time I read the rules, the NCAA does not care. Fail a NCAA test for ANY banned substance and the first offense is an automatic 1 year suspension.

Actually that's incorrect but carry on

If it's an NCAA suspension for banned substances then the suspension length isn't indefinite or indeterminate. They're very clearly defined. So unless the school is throwing up some dirt into the air to muddle things-which if you can be objective and get past the Alabama Illuminati theories you can keep reading or comment but I don't think they are here-it doesn't seem to be a drug-related or banned-substance problem.

It may be for something Tony did before he got to campus. Or something his family did before he made it to campus. Obviously it hasn't impacted his sister whose still running track at LSU as far as I know.

As I recall, many LSU Fans were sympathetic prior to his Alabama recruitment as many folks in the media covering him talked about his dather's medical issues. I believe he was a big impact on his life and he ended up having a stroke before his senior year.

Lots of medical bills as I recall, and I'm sure losing your father as an everyday presence in your life to a grueling and uncertain recovery can sometimes impact young kids in different ways.

Some grow up quickly. Some others not so much. I do know Saban tries to put as robust of a support system around the kids in his programs as possible. At the end of the day, if this revolves around something Tony is responsible for, it's a real shame. Because Alabama certainly provided him every opportunity to succeed.

I hate Alabama but that doesn't cloud my objectivity here. He had his chances, but it seems like we may not know exactly what went down just yet. Saban did and kept him around as long as possible it seems.

Pretty much. The copious amounts of shite that was received for 5for5 is pretty hilarious now considering it couldn't have worked out better for us in the end.

Yeah, y'all really been great since then.

The answer appears obvious, and Saban laid out breadcrumbs too about "multiple" suspensions. He's in hot water with Saban and got himself sent home from the Bowl. But, he's back with the team subject to making peace with team rules (suspension, steps, whatever). If it was a possible NCAA violation for amateurism, he wouldn't be on the team this spring. However, when anyone fails the arbitrary NCAA drug screen, but hasn't run afoul the school rules (1st tests no suspension at most schools, fixed suspensions after that are kept quiet and are commonplace these days) you usually see them stick around AND the school appeals their violations (see Will Grier).

Not sure if he'll get a 1 year ban, way less, or nothing, but Bama is sticking behind him for now and, has their own punishment for him whether the violations are the same or not, and await the final NCAA ban. Even at 1 year, I'd expect to see him stay unless he wants to drop down a division. A suspension year can't be a redshirt year right? So he can't just transfer to say Oklahoma and play after an NCAA penalty.

He hasn't come close to living up to 5 star hype. I honestly thought he'd be a WR/ST combo that would shine. Like be considered a top player in NYC shine. He hasn't done anything to warrant be on an NFL roster as of yet but he will get a chance on measurables alone.

But he could've done that at any school.

Well it was only 2 years ago. Fournette was one of those 2 and he's a junior.

I was speaking more to the fact that those three players have been in trouble, but I wouldn't expect you to be able to read between the lines

Not to mention adding those 3 to LSUs roster doesn't = NC. His logic is pretty simplistic, which is expected at this point.

What was his suspension for in the first place? Seems all the google searches are fruitless

Or y'all could have gotten all of them and they could have been model citizens and badasses. What's simplistic is saying you're better off. Lighten up guys.

was initially announced as a "violation of team rules." no specifics ever provided unless I'm mistaken.

In certain cases the simple answer is the right answer. It's pretty easy to see that LSU unintentionally dodged some questionable characters.

that was when the violation of team rules was announced and he was sent home. I never read a legit reason why. maybe one of our "insiders" thinks they know but to my knowledge it was never announced and I'm pretty plugged in usually.
