FSU and OU were way better at every position than his UH teams (maybe not at DT with Oliver), and his teams won those games.

The talent gap between LSU and Texas is actually pretty narrow. Texas 2018 class was damn good and better than LSU's by a good bit. Texas 2017 class was the transition class and not a good class at all, and LSU had a good class in 2017. 2016 both had top 10 classes, but LSU was bigger and a bit better.

This doesn't take into account big tranfers (Burrow for example), but the talent should be close, Herman is a good coach, and Texas has circled this game for the season

Translation: He likes the matchup and has spent a massive amount of time in the off-season preparing for this specific game, which is what he does.

I’m still not convinced this is a real quote. Looks like its the same format as that CFC parody account.

If I'm understanding your point about the recruiting classes. Most of the horns talent is in first or second year. LSU's talent seems to be spread out more evenly. This is the first SR class tigers have had in a while. I'll take LSU's lineup of third and fourth year players vs their first and second year guys.

Still the author one of my favorite CFB quotes of all time, from just before his inaugural season at ND.

Reporter asked him about the Irish's brutal schedule, and said he was probably losing sleep over it. Lou replied, "Actually I sleep just like a baby - I wake up every hour and cry."

2016 classes for both were top 10, and that is the "senior" classes now. The junior class is a big advantage for LSU, while the sophomore class is a sizable advantage for Texas

WTF does that have to do with Texas playing LSU in 2019? I mean every coach in the country has lost games he shouldn't. It doesn't mean you're incapable to get your team up for the big games. Herman has a history of getting up for the big ones then losing clunkers. UGA/FSU/OU (once last year with Texas and with UH), L'ville

I'm more worried about them screwing up against Louisiana Tech than I am them playing a bad game against LSU.

Recruiting is the wrong data set to look at in this game.
