You have a bit of fundamental misunderstanding of how odds work. Let’s say LSU is the favorite by 10 (making that up of course) and lots of folks choose Texas to cover. By moving the line to Texas being the favorite, now you’ll get more folks taking LSU to cover or win.
Or some version of this. Vegas odds are not always meant to be what the oddsmakers actually believe will happen. It’s to balance out their portfolio if they have too much riding on any given outcome.

I get that. I think that LSU is solidly a touchdown favorite. It just seems like a really big movement in the last month to try to generate bets.

See my previous post. Game is in Texas, that’s a large factor in these type games of course. I’d be shocked if most of the money thus far was placed on LSU winning
