Ever heard of a wrongful termination suit? Dipshit.
Butch's contract is just like every other coach's. He has a provision for being fired with or without cause. He cannot file a wrongful termination suit unless his firing violates the ADA,equal employment, or some other federal law. Absent that, the question is whether or not he is owed his buyout.

Thanks for the excellent advice! Fear Butch much?

Watching you deal with this after all your stupid posts is so great.
Best part of the entire pathetic UT sex scandal.

USF had fired Leavitt for cause. He sued and got a portion of his buyout back. Which is exactly what I said Jones would attempt to do were he to be fired with cause.

Washington Settles
The NCAA paid the bulk of Neuheisel's claim because it was their ruling that forced his termination by UW. This is not an apt comparison to the UT situation.

Penn State Settles
Like USF, this coach fought a for cause termination. Which is exactly what I said Jones would attempt to do were he to be fired with cause.

St. Patrick Settles
"In a case against the Roman Catholic Bishop of Sacramento, a jury found in favor of Cerbone, 53, on all claims: Wrongful termination, defamation, and that the Diocese had acted with oppression, fraud or malice against Cerbone, entitling him to punitive damages."
This guy was fired for reporting sexual assault, so he was protected by federal whistle-blower laws. I'm sure you can recognize the difference between reporting sexual assault and (allegedly) accusing someone of being a "traitor" for helping a victim.
Unless UT goes full retard and slanders, libels, or otherwise defames Jones on the way out, this is not an apt comparison.

Scorecard:
2 scenarios that are identical to what I said would happen
2 scenarios that aren't comparable to UT's situation.
You are an idiot.

Yes fire them, regardless if there is any truth to the allegations or not. Nevermind that the school would be on the hook for untold millions in damages if it turns out the allegations are false.
I am going to ask you a very serious question TJ:
Are you retarded?
What reason does that kid have to lie? Is there any motive?
And even if he is lying, all those assaults still happened on his watch.

Alleged assaults, to my knowledge, not a single conviction has occurred. In fact, the Von Pearson case, which was added to the lawsuit yesterday, was thrown out by the District Attorney because they concluded that the accuser was lying.

Considering there are federal investigations and a federal lawsuit in place, this idea that Butch Jones would have a reason to file a lawsuit is hilarious.
I'd imagine the NCAA is lining up their investigations also.
Having said this, TN will not fire Butch Jones. The fans can't handle yet another rebuilding process just yet - after the season - yes.

There's no way to put lipstick on this pig.
UT is fricked.
Federal investigators are inbound for the witch hunt. Title IX stuff is coming. After all that is cleared up then they get to deal with the NCAA.
Maybe if they had the admin show up and had the coaches act like they cared at that press conference a few days then they might be able to "save face." Since they went all in on the "no big deal" position.....they fricked.

LSU, OM & aTm were doing their best to win the "offseason dumpster fire" award a couple of months ago.
That was until UT came in and said "Imma frick this chicken". Now we're all just watching the feathers fly.

The relatively/recently hired assistant AD in charge of 'football operations' (hired away from BAMA, I might add), will be fired as a scapegoat.

And even if he is lying, all those assaults still happened on his watch.
1. He has to be lying somewhere. His first story was that no assault took place and that he didn't even know the girl had been raped. He said he was just giving her a ride home. He was either lying to the Grand Jury and in his interview regarding what he told the Grand Jury or he's lying now.
1a. As for motive, if he was legitimately assaulted/ battered or hell even if he can convince a jury regardless of truth then he has a civil case against Curt Maggitt who just happens to be going pro this year (some thought he wouldn't make it due to injury but he got a combine invite) and he'd also have a case against Jones and UT. Pretty obvious motive especially since Bowles will very likely not play pro football.
1b. Because this is civil court we're talking about Bowles can also claim he was forced out despite the fact that everyone knew he was transferring well before the night in question.
2. That is demonstrably false. The lawsuit reaches back MANY years/decades and includes non-football players.
