23 points.
I don't care if LSU put up just 1 more point than Auburn. A win is a win is a win.

Auburn's defense is for real. LSU's offense is for real.

To put 500 yards on that defense is impressive. I would be happy if Bama put 500 yards on Auburn and control the clock. In my opinion, Burrow was the main difference in the game. Auburn and LSU matched up close to evenly everywhere except at QB.

The only thing I was disappointed about was that Nix didn't throw an int in the endzone, like his dad did 25 years ago.

Well you obviously don't know shite about football..

It if the fashionable thing to say for a few days, then other things will occupy the minds. If they are the best team, why do they have 2 losses already?

They were routinely put into a bad position by an absolutely atrocious display of offense.

I think you could make a reasonable claim for that on both sides. However, I'd blame the horrible turf situation for most of it. The way player's feet were sliding out from under them (see Joe's attempted QB sneak for an example), I can see coaches on both sides getting a little more conservative to keep the chance of injuries down.

Just my opinion, but if it was a good fast turf that didn't look like the Mekong delta, LSU's offense would have gone a LOT faster to salt the game away before the 4th.

Teams still have to have the players to run the blueprint. Which Ole Miss and Texas A&M don't have on defense.

That blueprint won't work unless (a) Bryant-Denny looks like a swamp at game time (like Tiger Stadium's field did on Saturday), and (b) Q comes back and sneaks on the field for Bammer during the game.

Honestly, though, even if a small monsoon DOES move through tuskerloser before the game, you can bet that Coach O and company have already started looking for ways to keep the field from costing them points after their game against the Barn..

Just my two pennies.

Auburn's defense gave up a ton of yards. Everybody knows that. AU lined up with 3 down linemen much of the game and committed to taking away the boundary throws that Burrow has feasted on all season.

LSU's offense is so good that Auburn picked it's poison. That meant a bunch of yards were yielded in between the 20 yard lines. It was a brilliant defensive plan against a monster opponent. And it nearly worked if the Gus offense could have been simply average. They were not.

Watching the LSU offensive adjustments to Auburn's defensive game plan was fun to watch. Those are two quality staffs with a pile of ball players on each side. Frankly don't think there are many college football defenses that have the players to get away with that Auburn strategy against LSU. We will see in two weeks if Alabama can.

Auburn's D is the truth. LSU did what it needed to win the game.

LSU was not looking ahead. Mistakes, weather, and probably some coaching hurt LSU.

I enjoyed the game.

They scored how much? Yards mean nothing if your final score is low.

And yet, when it is pointed out that Florida's absolutely terrible offense gained 457 yards on LSU's defense, the statements are usually "stopped them when we needed to" or "empty yards - look at the score board!"

I think no one on LSU's side thinks that the Tigers will be in good shape against some other offenses if they only score 10 points in the first half. If Auburn had Alabama's offense, by the time LSU would have scored AU would have been up by 21.

This is the first time in the 21st century that putting up 23 points is considered "ripping" a defense.

I get your point, but 2011 Bama and LSU defenses would like to say hello:

LSU - only gave up 23 points in one game - the opener vs. Oregon

Bama - none, Ga Southern was the closest at 21.

Those two defenses were bad-arse.
