Tough luck. Teams like FL, AU, and TN don't want to play the type of shite program that goes close to 40 years without winning a national title either.

Just trade Auburn for Mizzou or Vandy.

This is as well done a split as it gets because you only need one perma cross game to make all the rivalries work.

Alabama/Auburn
LSU/A&M
Ole Miss/Miss St
Tenn/Vandy
Arky/Missouri
South Carolina/Georgia
Kentucky/Florida?

could switch UGA and Vandy if you cared about that more.

Please tell me HOW MSU & TA&M are neighbors to Georgia & Florida. If they're not, then WHY put them in the same division?
Same with LSU/Miss. with SC & Tenn..

I agree. People just lump us with SC only because we're neighboring states.
We have a LONGER history with Miss. than SC!

Whatever the current state of things, whether Smart is L'il Saban like Georgia fans hope, whether Mullen is the man to take Florida back to Spurrier/Meyer levels, both of those teams are just one great coach away from being the same level Alabama is currently.

The same can be said for A&M, and to a lesser degree LSU.

Easier said than done, but it happened for Alabama which really isn't as good a recruiting job as A&M, Florida, Georgia, and LSU.

Tennessee's population increase in Middle Tennessee is really changing the recruiting situation from as short a time ago as a decade. They might not be in Georgia's postion, but that is starting to be an excellent recruiting base.

Anyway, as always, the problem is the Gumps. They need to be broken. The other schools need to get together and say "Sniff the glove." That Alabama/Tennessee game is the albatross to making a conference with better games and geography.

One long time rivalry game goes, and the Auburn/LSU and Auburn/Florida games come back.

If Alabama and Tennessee want to keep that game, they can schedule it out of conference for most years. Most of the time it wouldn't count for conference standings, but would be interesting for fans.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

Suck it Gumps.

Edit: Meant to say "Auburn/Tennessee," not "Auburn/LSU"

Funny how NOTHING was said about TSIO when TN was constantly winning. But now it needs to be ended?

& sorry, TN/Ala. & UGA/Aub will NOT be a non-conf. game!

These younguns on here don't remember there not being cell phones in everyones hand. If it happened 10 years ago it was a mirage and don't matter.

And I agree, the stupidest thing I ever heard was a playing a conference team, a major rival conference team, as a non conference game. That is just plain out Dumb and Dumber shite.

TSIO and the TDSOR STAY.

I would rather see the SEC add 2 more teams and have 4 divisions of 4 teams. Top team from each play and the final 2 play for the SEC title. Start the trend and watch the rest of the P5 do the same. Then we have a real payoff system.

4X4 pods = yes
a playoff just to get the SEC champ = HELL NO!

What kind of scheduling would you have that allows that? & then have the winner go on to the playoffs?

I know of some high school teams who played region opponents in non-reg. games just to fill out their schedule.

Are you going to tell me that Alabama puts out more players than the whole state of Louisiana or Georgia? More often than not Georgia guys auto think Georgia first. And it is a rare day when a Louisiana kid turns down LSU.

As for Texas and Florida, A&M and UF both... kind of are the schools with a built in advantage in enough of their respective states to easily pass what Alabama puts out.

Plus Alabama does lose players to Auburn from within the state.

Yeah, I am saying that if Saban had somehow gone back to LSU, or gone to one of the other schools he could have recruited even better.

Maybe. Probably what he would have had were teams with more instate, and less out of state players than at Alabama.
