It is more than just wins and loses but politics. Arkansas just doesn't fit in the SEC. We are only here because the SEC needed a championship game as with South Carolina. If it wasn't for that then the SEC had no reason to offer us.

It is hard to explain but Arkansas will continue to be treated as an outsider and will never win the SEC unless the Arkansas brass finally gets some balls and starts speaking out with demands. Just sitting at the table and not speaking isn't good enough.

SEC didn’t need Ar-Kansas before 1992 and sure don’t need them now.

Sincerely frick off,

Yeah I'd agree with that. Arkansas, A&M, and Mizzou are much better financially here, but they'd have more leverage in the B12 even with Texas' domineering

Arkansas and Texas would be epic. Arkansas and Oklahoma would brew into a heated rivalry as we are just next door.

If you left, Oklahoma would take your spot and the B12 would collapse overnight.

If Arkansas were in the B12 for this year only you’d only be favored against kansas and MAYBE a pick em vs West Virginia. Why would you want to go 0-10 to 2-8 for $10,000,000 less a year when you can do the same here?

Since 1992, the SEC has won 14 national championships. During the previous 28 years, the SEC won 5, so apparently you did. It's like Arkansas lit a fire under the SEC's arse.

If Oklahoma would leave then it wouldn't collapse as long as Texas doesn't leave. But the scenario could change and that the BIG 12 would add more teams. Thus they would form a newer conference.

I don't believe Arkansas will be in the SEC for the next 50 years or before that as the conferences will be changing a lot.

Arkansas, Mizzou, Neb, CO and A&M would probably all say that UT had too much sway in the SWC/ B12, but none have much leverage in current conferences either... In the end I think we'll see some more realignment within the next few decades like you say

This doesn’t make you funny, if just makes you look like a fricking retard. But you’re from Alabama so it’s not surprising.

I saw this just a few weeks ago coincidentally
quote:

The only time Frank ever called me was in 1976 when he retired,” Switzer said. “He offered me the (Arkansas) job. He said he’d leave it open for three days to give me a chance to think about it.

“I told him I couldn’t leave the players we had recruited. We’d just won the titles in 1974 and ’75, and we had assembled so many great players in several classes.

“We’d brought in Kenny King, Billy Sims and so many other great ones. I told him we just had it going too good for me to leave and he understood.”

As far as playing the Razorbacks, Switzer said the Sooners had no room on the schedule.

“Of course, we had the nonconference game with Texas,” Switzer said of the Red River game played each year in Dallas. “And, the policy of our athletic department was that we’d also have one nonconference home-and-away series with a team on one of the coasts.

“We played Southern Cal, UCLA out west, then we’d play Penn State or someone east. We did that for national exposure. You play one easy game to start the season and it really didn’t allow for a spot to play Arkansas.

“It would have been pretty stupid to play both Texas and Arkansas nonconference. Like I said, it never came up.”

The Sooners had tough games against Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Missouri in their league.
