The reason we are so bad in football is because we never cared enough to get better. Until that changes expect the same results.
We have done nothing but screw up in basketball for over 20 years. How they are still bad for so long is puzzling. But that is going to change real soon with EM.
Baseball thrived because they left it a lone as it wasn't a big revenue sport. Because of that we only have two coaches in our history. That eventually has led to them being a top baseball school that win soon win the CWS.

The reason Arkansas sucks is because the Arkansas media and fan base are constantly making excuses.

We could always go to the BIG 12 and then bitch a bout why Texas screws us over just like the good old days.
We will never get much of a say in the SEC because we are not a original charter member. Just like Carolina, A&M, Missouri, we are still treated as outsiders. That is still better than getting no say at all in a Texas conference of the BIG 12.

It won't get better until your small population State, either grows rapidly or gets a lot better at HS FB, you just don't have the in State HS FB to play in the SEC, maybe the Big12-old SWC, but not the SEC

Eh, if this is the case then MSU and Ole Miss don’t belong in the SEC, Vandy and Kentucky definitely don’t belong and it’s arguable South Carolina doesn’t belong. We recruit right along with the first two, better than the next two and slightly worse than SC. And we’ve arguably had more success in the conference since joining than any of them.
We just wouldn’t be any good in any conference with the team in its current state.

We historically have always recruited out of state just like many football schools still do today.
Our problem is the coaching part and until that is fixed, the sucking will continue.

Those states don't have a lot of division 1 talent. It is better than Arkansas but not much better. Most schools have to recruit out of state anyway as they don't have enough division 1 talent to field a team each year. Our problem is our schools aren't fully developed especially the Little Rock Metro which has a shite ton of talent not even playing sports.

That is who the SEC wanted first not us. The only reason we were invited is because the SEC wanted a championship game for monetary reasons. So we're only ones left with South Carolina that could make that happen.

I believe eventually that a super conference realignment will come soon. I can see Arkansas joining a newly created conference that might offer a little bit better leverage in all things politics. But that is not anytime soon.

Tbh I think the last few years are kind of an aberration, Arkansas shouldn't be that hard of a job: it's not a state that produces much talent but you've got almost the entire state supporting you, resources, good facilities and next door to TX. The Petrino thing just set yall back and Bert wasn't up to the rebuilding project much less Chad
