Most exciting defensive player ever at Bama was Antonio langham followed by derrick thomas.
Pfffffffffffffffft
1. DT and it's not even close
2. Leroy Jordan
Then there are several you could argue for 3-5

I saw Derrick Thomas destroy Penn State almost by himself...Williams reminds me of him a lot.

Did he get another tackle this week?

He had a few. Scored a touchdown too

Probably Copeland and Curry
That. I can't think of anyone that would equal D. Thomas. That guy was a once in a generation or 2 special. That's not taking away from T. Williams in any way either.

Same with Texas A&M. 5 sacks in one game.

LSU started recruiting Tim Williams in 8th grade.....no I do know about Moses and I know they went to the same high school. LSU knows about every kid in the state because they have people in every area scouting these kids at camps and throughout the year. Yes, even when they are in 7th, 8th, 9th grade.

I remember it vividly that we offered him late and he was already Bama bound. We may have been in his ear early but the official offer came late.

It doesn't diminish TW's talent but Miles' son was classmate of TW and it was commonly thought at U-High that TW had character risks. TW may have well gone to Bama anyway and it was probably his better choice given the on field success he's had. But LSU didn't pursue TW very aggressively until well after Bama was all over him and fear of character issues was the reason.

Yeah I knew it was something like that. He sure worked out for them though.

People seem to forget how disruptive Upshaw was.
There's a long line of greats on Bama defenses. Only a few are what I'd consider special.
Williams can get there, but he has a long way to go.

Danny Skutack, Freddie Smith or Carlo "Killshot" Cheatum...
I can't decide.
I can't decide.

They have a guy posting In this thread who has never seen D Thomas play and completely overlooking C Bennett.
I love how T Williams is better than that aTm guy; but he needs to do so much more to compete with either Thomas or Bennett.
I hope the Saints draft the kid to put pressure on Cam, Ryan and Winston and never on Bress.
He and Rankins could get us to make a playoff run, at least, with Brees locked in the next few years.

Believe me, I don't forget. I've always said he was the most disruptive player on that 2011 defense but Hightower always got all the praise. Upshaw was a BEAST.

I am slightly too young to remember Derrick Thomas at Alabama. He is probably the answer to the question. However, I will answer the question post DT era.
Terrence Cody was really exciting for me. His first or second snap he forced a fumble against Clemson. He helped set the tone for Alabama's return to dominance. His fat man prance he did when he was coming off the field after he made a big play was a lot of fun.
George Teague made some big plays for Alabama. He was pretty damn fun to watch.
Marcell Dareus was a beast of a player. It's a shame we had to use him out of position at times. He was an edge rusher for us on 3rd and long. If we had one more edge guy back then that was pretty good it would have been nice to see him rush from the interior where he belonged.
Roland's McClain was exciting, Big time hitter. Extremely smart player. He always snuffed out a RB screen.
I bet opposing teams would say Herschel Bolden. I bet they always got excited when a pass was thrown his way.
CJ Mosley made a shite ton of tackles and big plays for the tide. He deserves a mention.
Javier Arenas was exciting. He is the best nickel back Bama has had IMO. A great blitzer and return man. A very sure open field tackler. Outside corner in the base defense. A versatile performer that could do it all.
Donte Hightower has the potential to be the best one of them all. He was an absolute freak before he tore up his knee. His spring game performance his SO year was an eye opener.
I am sure I am forgetting tons of great players but I think the most exciting player post DT would be George Teague.

The thread title is the most disruptive SINCE those guys and the others named.
No one is claiming TW is better that DT or CB.

Curry & Copland were more recent than DT and as effective as TW.
Cornelius Bennet. I remember him making 8 consecutive tackles once on 8 plays. Didn't matter if it was a run, a pass, to the left side or to the right side. This was on 8 plays over 3 sets of downs by Penn St who a really good team at the time. I couldn't believe what I seeing.
