It could be true but damn
Glad someone found you Waldo.

I feel like if this was public knowledge we would know about it from people other than NFL employees.

While I agree with you in principle, the drug is illegal in the country and warrants a suspension during the season.
Hell even Meyer suspended Bosa and others for it in 2015

Not that I agree with it necessarily, but weed just isn't a big deal anymore. It's legal in several states and is just as much a part of african-american sports culture as hip-hop music is.

Stats don't tell the entire story of a performance. Deshaun's running ability kept a good bit of our players from tackling him including Williams. But if you'll watch the game again, Tim Williams was very much coming off the edge and putting pressure on him. That's just how good Deshaun is.

WTH is Saban doing to all of these good Louisiana kids that he promises to safeguard when they go to Bama? Is Guns and Drugs 1001 a freshman level class at UA?

REC kept that shite quiet
Would explain the "up and down" from week to week.

Saban didn't suspend Robinson for the incident. Rather, he defended him publicly, citing Robinson's history in the program and the discipline he accepted as punishment, such as police ride alongs and community service

Discipline can be corrective or punitive, or both. Corrective being the first key. Do you honestly think that Robinson was going to make the same mistake again? Doubtful. And the ride alongs, gun safety training courses he took weekly, community service, etc served as both corrective and punitive. Would suspending him have made him even more likely to not do it again? Doubtful. Saban understands that and he likely doesn't g.a.s. about your views on his discipline implementation.

Robinson and Jones should have missed the USC game and it's not like it would have made a difference - Bama would have put up 30 points instead of 50.
It's the principal and in this day and age especially with the NFL's take on discipline it would have been the right call but Saban would rather take the heat from the media on the deal and he did.

Evans and Anderson seemed to hurry deshaun all night long. I don't remember Williams making much of a factor at all. Admittedly though i wasn't paying that close attention on every single snap to who was getting pressure in the backfield.

this was part of their punishment:
quote:
According to the documents, both players have had to undergo weekly urine tests, have had regular drug counseling, have monthly video appointments with a mental health consultant and have had to meet twice a week with a Tuscaloosa police officer for gun safety/ownership education.
They also both have had to complete 20 hours of community service.
In addition, Robinson has spent at least 26 hours riding along with the Northport Police Department while Jones had to spend 21 days in a drug rehab program, per the documents.
all of that likely does more to correct the behavior and prevent future issues than missing a game that his team likely would've won by 30+ any way. the gun safety education, the counseling, the weekly drug tests, the community service, the ride alongs...all that would have taken place over a period of months. I just think that would have had a bigger corrective impact than a one week punishment.
i get why a fan of another school would want him to miss a game. i'd probably want someone for an opposing school to miss a game too, but honestly, if it were my kid i'd rather the punishment be what Cam got from Saban than a simple one game suspension that would be meaningless.

That pic is so amazing. It almost looks like a cartoon. Like a rated R space jam.

The questionable handling of that incident wasn't the suspension aspect (I think that's at least arguable); it was the embarrassing attempt by Saban to imply they were only arrested because the cop was an LSU fan. Its not like anyone disputed they were found in possession of marijuana and guns.
