Let's say there's extra time doing all the little stuff like that that you mentioned. It's done well enough in advance that it doesn't really affect the players in any noticeable way.

Loading the players, driving to the airport, unloading the players and reloading them onto an airplane is done in advance?

And I notice that nobody ever voices any compalints about travel effects when we go to missouri, kentucky, and most of the SEC west schools which are all further?
Personally....I used to enjoy away games. But I've always been a bit weird. But the point he made was saying it takes the same amount of time. It doesn't.

So, all the Florida fans live near Miami.

I didn't say that. I said largest concentration will be from I-4 corridor and south. The highest concentration of fans/alumni is found in the largest population centers. That is where the jobs are, where alumni move and generations of fandom develop. The population center of FL is 2.5 hours south of Gainesville. So yes, there is a huge portion of the fan base in south Florida, but also in Tampa Bay, Orlando, and up and down the coasts.

Even Richt didn't like it in Jacksonville. From years back, my debate to move it is nearly the same as Smarts'.

The guy knows what he needs to do for his program to win at the highest level.

I remember UGA didn't even have the bye week before Jacksonville, and sum idiot Jort fan countered but you play Kentucky the week before, it's no big deal

I kind of agree with Kirby here. Adding that game would greatly increase season ticket sales for both teams and help balance things for conference scheduling. Maybe things will change when they move to the 3-6 schedule. As of now, Florida doesn’t really have any big names traveling to Gainesville on a regular basis besides LSU, and most of the time they lose that game. The lack of success from FSU and Tennessee has effectively hurt UF. It doesn’t help that they only play non-conference P5 teams at neutral sites either.

Why not have it something like home-and-home 8 out of 10 years, in Jacksonville once every 10 years (for tradition's sake) and in Atlanta once every 10 years? It seems like that would cover all the bases and make everybody happy.

blows my mind

You know what the difference is between a coach who has 7 national titles and a coach who has 7 kids?

The coach with 7 titles wants more.

Just because Kirby and UGA have done well in recruiting doesn’t mean that they can’t do better.

You mentioned the NIL. Hey, Sport, can you name me for the SEC schools in the top five in recruiting ATM?

Stricklin changed thar recently with the Utah series this year and also have teams like ND, Colorado, ASU that are home and home. Texas was going to be also OOC but of course they are joining the league.

It would be better to have it home and home 2 out of 10 years….

I still think the best rotation would be .. outside of always in Jax. Is

Athens- Gainesville- Jax- Jax..

That keeps the designated home team in order.
Gives back one of the 2 recruiting opportunities for each team in a 4 yr period. Let’s the tradition continue of everything that is WLOCP. Allows for a player to get the experience of playing in Athens and Gainesville in 4 years..

Over 12 year period , that would be ..
3 games in Athens
3 in Gainesville
6 in Jax

There is no reason to play the game in Atlanta .. zero reason.. not one.. you still can’t recruit there, the only reason to have it is to satisfy the selfish fans of north ga who don’t like going to Jax.. and that is not important in any way!

That would kill the WLOCP. There would be no point, it would just be another rivalry game, may as well just not play it there at that point. It's not about keeping it in Jacksonville for the sake of playing a game there because of some deep attachment to the city. People want to keep the atmosphere and experience that has developed over generations, that would be destroyed with a once a decade experience.

y'all are going to frick around and find out that moving the game to athens/gainesville is going to make this game more like a kentucky game. mark my words.
