I'm not listening to that but I can kind of agree with the overall mindset. This is gonna sound pouty or whatever, but saban really has ruined CFB in a lot of ways at least to the casual fan. The last decade everyone just knows ahead of time that bama is going to be elite and almost surely in the title hunt, if not the outright favorite to win the title. Every year.

So why is it Bama’s fault because they were elite so many years? If people don’t like it they should have put muscle into their own programs.

LSU didn’t let them stop the tigers from wanting more. Georgia certainly got better under Kirby. Hell, in my opinion Ohio State might be the team to beat and despite Clemson’s weak schedule, they have a top notch coach and they are solid. My team sucks right now but it’s life in college football. Eventually new teams rise and elite teams fall. Nothing has changed.

Like it or not if it’s the 4 best teams ya have to consider Bama. No way does a Baylor or Minnesota come close to beating Bama this year. Oregon I think one could argue because they have a first round talent at qb and a pretty good D. I mean the only teams that beat Saban for the most part had 1st rd talent under C. Utah is supposed to be really good but I think the Ducks win big against them. If the Ducks and UGA lose a 2nd game I think Bama is in. And we will see a rematch

If the playoffs were 8 this year, Saban would be in again. Be careful what you wish for.

So would Memphis. Want a cookie?

Always thought Brando was better suited as an assistant sports director in Baton Rouge as an LSU cheerleader homey. He probably missed his true calling when he auditioned for the Wheel of Fortune but shown the door.

Brando spends as much time being LSU’s biggest detractor as he does cheerleading for them. Brando is all about one thing- Brando.

He’s certainly triggered a lot in this thread. Makes me think he’s likely right.

How has this changed from any other decade outside the 00s? Growing up as a child in the 90s, every year you could count on Florida State being among the elite teams. If the playoff had existed back then, FSU would have made it just about every year from 1987-2000.

In the 1980s, it was Miami. Had there been a playoff in the 80s, they would have made every single year from 1985-1992.

College football has always been dynastic. There has always been a dominant team that ran roughshod over the competition in a given decade. This decade it was Alabama. Next decade....who knows? The 00s were the exception to the rule.

Thanks, but no thanks for the listen.
