Give that a coonass can fight a gator with no gun, but can't fight a tiger... I'm going tiger.

Don't know, but I've seen a Jaguar kill and eat a 'Gator on National Geographic.

Depends. How big is the Gator? How is the Tiger's diet? Is it a methed out Tiger like Missouri's?
Lots of variables here.

Big cats (any cats really) are some of the most effective and efficient predators on the planet. The quick twitch muscle reflexes are second to none as a species.

Missouri picked their tiger up from the humane society.

Tigers would be good at football and basketball

I give Florida the nod because
1. Gators are found naturally in North America.
2. They didn't pick some generic arse name like Tigers that 40 other colleges have as a mascot.

Tiger. Tigers kill bigger crocodiles in deeper water than that
But not always...

While it was rare for large predators to confront one another, he said, crocodiles have an advantage in water. "Salt water crocodiles are very powerful. Tigers cross creeks to move from one island to another in the Sundarbans and a crocodile in water is definitely much more powerful than a tiger," he said.

It was a crocodile or more likely a caiman. Only two types of alligators in the world: American and Chinese. Neither live in jaguar country.

That said, I'd say if:
1. Tiger ambushes gator; tiger wins
2. Gator ambushes Tiger; toss up
3. Tiger and Gator knowingly engage each other... Tiger wins the majority.

Gator > Tiger in water, Tiger > Gator on land!
Tiger in Swamp problem for Tiger, Gator on land in Death Valley problem for Gator.
