I was banned by HSV for saying American Idol was trash tv, and refusing to publicly apologize to those I offended.

MSU is getting a lot of hype from a lot of places. Meanwhile, everyone is overlooking they made a coaching change. If this season was being coached by a focused Dan Mullen, I could see possibly picking them to get to 10 wins or so. But with a new coach??? In this conference? I don't know about that. It seems like many are assuming much imo.

I'm not saying they are a bust, but I am taking a wait and see approach. How they look in week 2 against KSU on the road may say something, but the game that much hangs on is the Sept. 29th game against UF. If they come out of that game 5-0 they may have something cooking.

Terry Bowden was 20-1-1 in his first two seasons at the barn. Winning the first 20. Was 2-0 against Florida and 1-1 against Bama. The two teams that played in the SECCG in his first two seasons.

And before you tell me he did it with Pat Dye's kids, tell me why the hell Pat Dye didn't do it. Dye was 5-6 and 5-5-1 in his last two seasons.

No offense, but is there a point to your post as it relates to MSU and my post?

The west has become a two headed race with both teams from Alabama. Beginning in 2007 either Bama or Auburn has repped the west 9 times out of 11.....NINE of ELEVEN.

State, yea, yea, they have moments but will always be state. Again, they came into Ttown number one in , I think 2015 or so and nobody on our campus thought they would win. It may have been the weakest atmosphere for a number one team coming I've ever seen. After it was over you'd have thought we beat a 3 win team.
Arkie was a contender when we were sanctioned but haven't sniffed a win since we got back to full strength.
Ole Miss has never.....nevermind
LSU had a couple cups of coffee in the national spotlight but have returned to where they have always been historically and are about to go through a rough stretch.
A&M got us in 2012 with a generational QB who may have played the BEST first half of any qb at any level in the history of football and still had to hang on. They have been absolute routs pretty much since then (I do believe this will be the toughest match now outside of Auburn in the west we have) but it hasn't been very competitive yet.

Which is kind of crazy because, at Tidefans, posters were still allowed to question whether Hurts was a good qb without being insulted or attacked by mobs of angry Alabama fans. I have only been on this Alabama board a few months but I did read it occasionally, and apparently one did not criticize Jalen Hurts without paying for it.

People ain't gon' like it but it be this ^^^.

It's a good group except for some of the top folks but yeah the 7SU people there earned their lifetime bans.

FWIW though, I've heard they are allowing some 7SU fans back if they can behave.

"Meanwhile, everyone is overlooking they made a coaching change."

Your entire post was about a coaching change being negative. My entire post was about a positive coaching change.

LOL! Claiming they are the best at RB and QB is hilarious. One of their QBs suck and the other one has played a half, one great half, but still a half. UGA's backfield is also better than Bama's.

Tidefans is trash.

You did give an example of a coach winning big right out of the gate, in the SEC, but with a loaded football team that went for the gusto at every opportunity because it literally had nothing to lose while playing on probation. AU was good, but Terry was playing with house money and he knew it.

JoMo isn't playing with house money, and while MSU has talent I doubt they are as talented as AU was at that time. Plus, the conference has evolved and has only become more competitive.

Either way, I never said MSU will not win big. I think they have a good football team and are talented at some important positions and less talented at others. With a first year coach, my position is "show me". In no way did I say State would fail, and I actually posted that I wasn't picking them to bust. I'm just not entirely sold as much as some are. However, if I was a State fan I would be very optimistic.

At least be consistent. You say Tua has played only one great half, so (you insinuate) he shouldn't be ranked ahead of your guy, yet you claim the UGA backfield is better, though your top 2 rbs are gone now, and any of the rest are so unproven and inexperienced they lack that "great half" that Tua already has.

Oh yeah, meanwhile, Damien Harris is preseason SEC first team, and Najee Harris is one of the other young guys that torched UGA in the 2nd half of the same game.

yeah dude our kicker had like the best year ever for a Kicker in Mississippi State history he was perfect in field goals. what more can you ask for. We used to be happy with 50%. We did lose logan cooke as punter who was great but the new guy is pretty good and we have a good specialist for a coach. Plus we got some bosses that can block punts and field goals. our special teams is legit across the board for like the first time ever.

He was perfect on XP's. He was 12/14 on FG's, and his long was only 45 yards. Still a step in the right direction for you guys.
