What those people probably don't know is that Auburn is probably getting a huge chunk of change for that tree anyway. True story- when I was in high school some guy lost control of his car and ran into a tree in my friend's dad's yard. Completely destroyed the tree. The dad called an arborist to come out and look at it and he got a check for like $17,000. With as special as toomer's trees were I would imagine they could get some sort of nice payout.
Unless of course the dad's tree was some sort of rare species, but I doubt that.

Yes it is one of Saban's best recruiting tactics. He lures them in with promises of playing time and tradition. He then seals the deal with promises of all the free charter boat fishing trips you want. Kids love that shite.
