y'all act really immature about this. I'm assuming you're really young

first I didnt say anything immature about it and said it was a kind gesture; my only point is the UNIv had nothing to do with this one idiot. Second the media never says anything good about anybody and will spin it however they can because that is what sells. All I am saying is seperate yourself from the guy which shouldnt be hard to do. Nothing about that is immature and I am probably older than you believ it or not, but I do not believe this guy deserves jail time for killing a tree.

I know the guy who's been making a big deal about it on FBook.

The one bitching about the Bama logo being on pictures of Toomer's and whose profile pic is the "frick The Tide" with Tiger Rags Aubie throwing up the bird.

No jail time huh, so what would recommend for a guy who has been arrested a few times before and criminal mischief before as well. Oh and the fact that this will probably cost a small fortune when all said and done. With all the excavation that will need to done. Let's say he burned your house would you want this guy to go to jail? Yes they are just trees but it is destruction of property. Which is the same as burning down a house or many other crimes.

What's your address by the way? Since its just a minor event. You wouldn't mind people destroying your shite. Then people could just take out their frustrations on your property.

I am over it, but for someone to say someone should not go to jail for causing the state or someone to either spend or donate an amount that will be in excess of >100k( with the sidewalk, arches, street removals and to have everything put back it will be a lot) is pretty ridiculous.

]Again like I said before. The people should donate this money to the iron bowl food drive instead of the treeeeez. nice gesture.

A few months of jail at the very least just to tamp down the anger between the two sides. All need to see that a price will be paid for certain actions.

Ultimately its just destruction of property, even though it has another name.

I'm gonna laugh like hell if this is a scam and the money turns into Updykes bail money and/or lawyer fees.

I'm amazed at how many people are giving, to something that hasn't given any proof of legitimacy. This could be one of the biggest scams ever.

According to the police report, the damage will cost about $2,500.
I don't know how they came up with that figure, I'll bet it will cost a lot more than that just to try to fix it BEFORE they replace.

This is all going to cost more than what people probably imagine.
