State fans are the nicest in the league.

are these just fans grilling their own snacks? And if they're fans, do they pay extra to have access to the grills?
With the old stadium fans owned lots where they parked homemade stands built on trailers or old trucks and drank beer/grilled out. When we built the new stadium we built outfield lounges with electricity and grills to continue the tradition and fans who previously owned an outfield spot got first dibs to buy the new ones. It’s not as unique but the old way was a safety issue and lawsuit waiting to happen
Old left field
New one

Dogs win it 10-3.
Looked good tonight. Hopefully we can keep that going. Winning this series should lock up a host for us and keep us in top 8 contention.

Agreed. Getting that first game was key. Hopefully we can keep the momentum into the weekend.

I find all of that so insanely awesome, I can't even begin. This is the kind of quirky history that makes college sports so much more fascinating to me than pro sports. I'm sure this is all well-known to older SEC fanbases, but it's something Texas fans are still learning.

The Left Lounge dates back to the late 1960’s when Dudy Noble was first built. Students would pull their vehicles, trucks out beyond left field as there was a natural incline that gave a good view of the ball park. It grew through the 1970’s and then after Coach Polk was hired in 1976, it became a cult like gathering. During the 1983, SEC TOURNAMENT, my car stayed parked in center field for five straight days. We would stock it with Pearl Beer every day. Yes Pearl Beer that was like $3 a case and tasted terrible but for us college students it was drinkable!!!
Then in 1987 when the second Dude was constructed, a friend of ours spent two nights at the Coliseum to be one of the first to get an official slot in the lounge (a spot he still maintains today).
And as Delta mentioned, safety concerns mandated the new setups which were done when the new stadium opened in 2019. Still very unique and makes for a special place to watch a baseball game.

Dang, I gotta visit this park someday. Do you guys abuse visiting fans, or are you nice to them (or do you just generally ignore them)?

I was in Palo Alto when we played Stanford in the Super a few years back, and I had to listen to the game on the Stanford radio feed. Their radio guys were lamenting the fact that we were kicking their tails, but they were excited about going into the outfield after the game and getting fed.
One of the guys was keeping a notebook of things MSU did better than Stanford for baseball games. At one point he said, "Sheesh. I need a new notebook. This one is full. I know you guys think I am kidding, but coming here is very similar to Dorothy waking up in Oz. It's just a different, much better world "

I was lucky enough to be a student with the old dude and lounge. I saw so many drunk people hit their heads on random metal pieces that would jut out of the rigs. Also was on top of our fraternity rig several times with way too many people and it would get a little uncomfortable being on that old, rusty rig with 25 people on top
Also, saw an ole miss student talking shite during a big Saturday game get pelted in the head with an unopened miller lite tall boy.
It had way more character but yea in this day and age a lawsuit waiting to happen. Eventually one of those rigs would’ve collapsed during a game and we’d have big issues

The rig I am a member of (Right Field RawDogs) is two over from Hobie's Tiki Lounge. We cook every game and always welcome opposing fans. We do a few themed nights each year. Started the Catalina Wine Mixer about 9 years ago. Usually smoke a small pig and have fireball ice tower. gets better every year..
