Crazy. Bryce Chance with 1st inning grand slams in 2 straight SEC games.

And that's his first two homeruns the entire year, starting every game.

Valencius is untouchable for us at the moment. Hopefully our pen can keep it within striking distance until we can find a way to make contact.

I became kind of a State baseball fan during your 2021 national championship run because your ballpark looked so cool on tv. I just turned this game on, not sure if they've showed it, but am I right in remembering that people somehow grill food in the middle of certain sections in the stands, is that accurate? I need to see that place in person someday.

The grilling is in the outfield. It started many years ago in "Left Field Lounge". The outfield was loaded with all sorts of homemade rigs with seats and built-in grills. The rigs are gone, but the concept is the same.

Yep.

The areas in the outfield, called the “Left field lounge” but it’s a large portion of the outfield.

It used to be an area where people parked literal trailers with seating rigs build up on them. Now it’s part of the actual stadium. Grilling, BYOB, all the good stuff.

So are those people doing the grilling concessions employees and they sell food there? Or are these just fans grilling their own snacks? And if they're fans, do they pay extra to have access to the grills?

Just fans grilling out.

You have to “own” a lounge area to have access.

It’s easier to become a Packers season ticket holder than it is to get a left field lounge.

#3 Texas at Tennessee

I was about to say I think this is the first time we play Tenner in something other than basketball but then I unfortunately remembered the SEC T loss to them last year.

Dang, I gotta visit this park someday. Do you guys abuse visiting fans, or are you nice to them (or do you just generally ignore them)?

Nah we’re pretty nice and accommodating. Not super easy for visitors to get tickets, but doable, especially for GA.

Some (a lot) of our fans say the left field lounge is too nice to visitors. They get a little jealous that visitors are often invited into lounges but not other State fans.

That's exactly the response I was hoping for. If I can talk my wife into it next time Texas plays there, I'll try to buy seats off SeatGeek near one of the lounges, haha.

Thanks man. It's a great place to see and experience a game. State fans are always accommodating to rival schools fanbases.

I hate that I haven't been back since the renovation. These kids don't know how nice they have it. We'd sit in bleachers hallway down the 1st base line or stand along the fence on the other side. A freaking Dippin Dots stand being in RF feels sacrilegious.

That was my usual seat. I remember standing there when Ty Martin walked off Notre Dame.

Geez going Tico to Bauer is just unfair. Two no doubt first rounders.

Our rotation next year is gonna be:

McPherson (high first rounder)
Tico (first rounder)
Bauer (high first rounder, possible 1-1)

That’s gonna be fun.
