Everything was put in play 2 weeks ago. US and Israel met with everyone leading up to Iran coming empty handed to the nuke negotiations.
Here's the problem with taking out the top leadership. Even the CIA is admitting they don't know what to expect with the leadership vacuum that has been created. We didn't exactly hit it out of the park in Afghanistan.
This also adds another wrinkle to the Russia-Ukraine war. Putin has claimed he wants Ukraine as a buffer between Russia and NATO. This gives him the opportunity to argue his concern is valid. I think that's why you're going to hear nothing but silence from the EU about this.

From what I've read, we've cleared out most of those bases and moved our fleet out of range. People wonder why POTUS barely mentioned Iran during the SOTU? He knew what was coming. It wouldn't be smart to give the media something to dig into.
Now that said, at the very least Rubio and Hegseth need to be on the phone with the Gang of 8 when the sun rises and read them into the current situation. Johnson, Thune, and Shumer (I don't trust Hakeem to STFU) should be in the Oval Office within 48 hours.
