Not a bad way to start the day. It was a bit of a late night so my day started with the noon games. 1st half was a Sin Compromiso Gran Elefante. Great way to start off. A couple of touchups but smooth as hell.


I went with a La Lealtad Torpedo for the second half. Despite being a smaller vitola it produced much more smoke. My son just had one cigar and enjoyed second hand smoking my second half stick. I had been letting this stick rest for about 5 months and age helped the flavors shine.

Pizza. I get the slices I want without anyone giving me side eye.

I went to a sports bar solo last Sunday and did not enjoy it at all. Better than watching the game at our hotel but not by much.

I just dropped $200 for a few Cuban cigars and the only thing my wife said was that she wished I had told her. We are on the other side of raising two kids which has changed our relationship with money. With a mortgage paid off, no car payment, and in position to pay for house renovations with cash, I don’t view cash in the same way I did 5 years ago. We usually round up to the nearest 20 after figuring out the tip regardless of whether it means an extra $2 or $5. A $100 meal is a monthly thing rather than a couple times a year thing. A few days before dropping that $200, I dropped a G on a few boxes of cigars.

So no, I don’t view $100 like I did a decade ago. I’m literally smoking a c-note a week. One of my friends asked if I was driving to Florida and then noted my snooty response when I reminded him we were taking the company jet. Same thing when I was complaining about being “stuck” in Aspen for two extra days in September. I have gone from lower-middle and my wife has gone from dirt poor growing up in an old gas station to upper-middle class. I would give it all up to be able to go back in time and prevent my youngest from suffering a TBI.

My dad used to have a few dummy pineapples laying around the house. It’s not surprising at all that a lot of the great 50s pitchers were WWII vets.

I watched the opening match in the shower. They were in New Orleans…an hour flight from Orlando…and they go with Byron when they had plenty of time to fly Mike Rowe over? ETA: Tessatore/Barrett are the best/most credible/natural PBP/CC components in wrestling. I know Joe can’t do fall weekends but at least put Wade with Cole.

This is the correct way. Grill your burgers and brats then let them hang out together in a beer sauna. I’d go to sportsmen’s club meetings with my dad and Nescos filled with both were pretty standard. In winter my mom would skip the grilling part and’s just boil them in beer, butter, and onions.
