Long time lurker here and finally made an account. Curious what everyone thinks about the Mike Leach hire. I post on ED but would like an opinion of the other SEC fanbases.

Don't let people on ED know you're posting on here.

I believe it affects 50% of men in their 50s and 60% in their 60s.

Auburn had a chance to hire him several years ago. I’m glad they didn’t.

What does that mean? If they did they would've been no difference like they are right now.

I think he will have them in a similar spot that Mullen had them at. Mediocre but bowling every year with a 9-10 win season every 3-4 years.

He won at high above the historical norms of TTU and Wazzu. Those programs are kind of similar in terms of being tradtional also-rans with low expectations in BFE. However, a) State fans have developed higher expectations (Moorehead would be a god there for going 14-12 with two Egg Bowl wins in the past)
b) his offense isn't going to take people by surprise in the SEC like it did with Kentucky when he had Tim Couch

Love the guy and only hope for the best for him.

So.. I hope he fails miserably, gets fired, then succeeds tremendously at another school.

According to your brethren on here, he’s going to be an elite recruiter and run the ball a ton. I’m here for the letdown when neither of those things happens.

It's not as dumb as this message board, but it gives it a run.

I think he will be around 9 wins most years. If he can finally recruit, or get a staff that can he may do better.

I can see him upsetting one of the bigger schools almost annually even when they have a 7 win season. That Leach Air Raid can be a pain some Saturdays.
