Everyone knows by now LSU was Saban's pick to be darkhorse national title winner.

A few stats for some perspective...
LSU 40 ppg, Bama 38
Opponent ppg LSU 16, Bama 21
Rushing yog LSU 193, Bama 152
Opponent rushing ypg LSU 85, Bama 108
Passing yog LSU 317, Bama 260
Opponent passing ypg LSU 173, Bama 222
Total offense LSU 510, Bama 412
Opponent offense LSU 258, Bama 330
3rd down conv LSU 51% Bama 43%
Opponent 3rd down LSU 31% Bama 33%
Sacks pg LSU 4.3 Bama 2.5
Sacks allowed pg LSU 1.5 Bama 3

Where Alabama really shines is turnover margin. They do a great job of creating turnovers on aggressive DB play.
Leavitt seems to have corrected his turnover woes but this could be a different animal.
LSU has better edge rushers and interior DL than A&M yet A&M had Russell on the run a lot of the game.
Leavitt will face a really good defense that can be taken advantage of with their aggressiveness. Will LSU spy Russell? Will Bama spy Leavitt?
There's been so much parity in the SEC this year it's unreal.

I think this game stays close for most of the game, and I expect both Leavitt and Russell to break a couple nice runs.

I just think LSU scores a late 4th quarter TD or FG to put it out of reach.

LSU 27 Alabama 17

I think it's a pretty good matchup. I think LSU has a good chance of winning it but I'm cautiously optimistic. Nothing will surprise me. I just hope it's a good, competitive game.

LSU has lost to every decent team they’ve played, don’t see why this would be any different.

I think this is a terrible matchup for us, honestly. As you say, unless we magically transform back into the team we were four weeks ago, our best bet is for Leavitt to throw several interceptions to keep us in it. Barring that, this is one we could lose by 2-3 scores.

If LSU doesn't win, then they are doomed to never beat Bama. This isn't a good Bama team, and Kiffin needs this win, especially with this rivalry going away and not getting Bama at home again for years.

All the pressure is on LSU

Game will come down to Leavitt protecting the ball, and Keelon Russell’s ability to make plays off schedule. He’s a great young qb but Bama’s pass protection has been very suspect and LSU’s pass rush has been elite.

Bama, playing like Bama does this year will lull LSU by letting them jump to a 17 point lead. My issue is, Bama will then play like Bama does in 2026 and will start storming back just prior to halftime.

Bottom line...Bama cannot lose.

I believe a lot of what you said is correct. Kiffin needs this win more than anything. But Deboer can't risk having his head called for on a platter with a 3rd loss.

There's no excuse for either team to lose this game other than just being outcoached and outplayed.

Well.... we can't all "BE BACK" like Tx and have losses against teams that aren't decent.

Saban should go into the extermination business. He knows how to put out the rat poison.

Bama has created a lot of turnovers this year, If LSU takes care of the football then it should be a good and close game.

If Bama creates 1-2 turn overs then I say Bama by 10. If LSU can create enough pressure on the QB and get some 3 and outs early then I say LSU by 10.

Either way I won't be watching the game, mtb010 junior has his 10u playoff game at 3:30 Saturday. He had 7 solo tackles last week, 3 of which were sacks. He plays defensive end and I am just saying yall should start recruiting him now.

True. Bama has been beat up on the OL. Starting Center went down for UT game. That dude has been the fireplug on the line till that point. He should be back. Hopefully Bama gets a few more players back as well including WIlliams. I disagree with a lot of Bama fans that say we aren't talented. I think this team has talent, but I am so disappointed in our coaches. Both sides of the ball honestly. LSU should win this game but it will come down to turnovers and specials teams.

If LSU hasn't watched the past few games and figured out how to stop Bama's offense, they deserve to lose. Grubb nor Russell can manage a heavy rush.

So you're saying that if LSU beats Bama, Bama is a terrible team?
