How did 7 of you dimwits upvote this? As if his little shite post is anything whatsoever new on here. I hope the OP gets his identity stolen or is scammed in some other way for everything he's got, that way he gets to fully appreciate someone bending the rules/cheating.

Agreed, but the inverse relationship does not always exist.

Couldn't care less. LSU is doing too and has been doing it for at least the last 2 decades if not longer.

What a shite analogy. Breaking a rule that shouldn't be in place that actually benefits the recruit and school is in no way the same as stealing from someone.

Villanova has the 3rd ranked class in the nation for 2019 according to 247 sports.

I'm sure there are a few exceptions every year but to be a top team consistenty you have to get your hands dirty

Yes this is his first highly rated class after his 2nd national championship. That is normal. He has cred now.

Speaking of horrible parenting, does your mother even know you're on this board? Don't think she would approve

Of course everybody cheats. Not many are dumb enough to have the head coach passing out the cash. At least be professional if you are going all in for winning. I bet Saban has no idea who purchased player X the new car. Smart coaches do not want to know, they just need it done.

No, she doesn't but she'd agree with me. She nor my father would expect any of their kids to have to pay for them. Since ya know, that would be shitty, worthless and whatever words I used above parenting.

It's a complete joke you justifying cheating for that reason.

Where exactly did I justify or Imply that cheating is ok? I'm simply stating the fact that to be a top program you have to do it.

Now I'll argue till I'm blue in the face that providing impermissible benefits is a thousand times better that committing a federal offense where there's an actual victim.

You're whole post is saying it's ok or you would have said you were against cheating instead you validate it by saying you have to do it. You can't have it both ways.

And I'd argue that there are tons of victims- fans, other players not getting paid, etc.

I'm saying it's a necessary evil if you want to be competitive in the two major sports. In an ideal world, recruits would be compensated legally or the NCAA would enforce the rules consistently. However neither of which is the case, so back to the first sentence.

Despite whatever rules are in place the top programs are always going to get the top talent which means fans of lesser schools are
going to be a "victim" if you want to call it that no matter what. Players that aren't getting paid likely aren't as talented or are not in big revenue generating sports. Thats not a victim, that's capitalism.

I'm all for capitalism in the real world, not in college sports though.

I just have always thought it extra shitty to cheat in a game because it's...A GAME...-- be that playing spades, pool, college basketball etc. It truly, in my mind, takes away from the fun and most definitely from the accomplishment.

Agreed on the last paragraph. I wish it truly was amateur sport but when 10s of millions of dollars are hinged on success, money will inevitably become involved.

dude, it's not like LSU is shooting into a bigger rim. Your analogies are terrible.

You do realize college sports have involved compensation for top athletes going back easily into the '40s and '50s.

The NCAA's model is as outdated as the US Olympics "amateurism" model was for athletes.

Quite literally right now has the #3 class in the country with 2 5-stars.
2019 Team recruiting rankings

In 2018 class he got a 5-star and the #44 and #53 overall players.
In 2017 class he nabbed 2 Top 100 overall players.
In 2016 he got a 5-star.
In 2015 he got a 5-star.

So make that 5 5-stars the past 5 classes. Yeah, he's playing the game, sorry to say.

I will say basketall class rankings dont make a lot of sense because of the extreme size differences one to the next. You could have an EXCELLENT 2 man class be ranked worse than a mediocre 7 man class. But, there's the laundry list of 5 stars recently which is probably more relevant to "do you cheat, yes/no"
